[accidental video]
[Well, if there is one object Balder is not familiar with than it has to be the one that is placed in his hands right now. Somekind of device with tiny buttons on it and something that is...well, what is it exactly? It lights up for no reason and oh, there's his own image and he has no idea he is actually broadcasting himself throughout the network.]
Ah! It is a mirror of some sort.
[Balder peers into the small mirror briefly, quickly brushing a strand of hair aside. After that he tosses the 'mirror' on the bed and all others can see is a ceiling.
He has never seen a city like this, or a room like this, or anything like this to begin with. And he has travelled through some realms and faced quite some dangers. But there has never been any danger that came in the form of a rather...futuristic room with a very soft bed.]
What realm is this?
[He seems to be muttering to himself as he is leafing through the small booklet that they left for him. Apparently someone needs to give him more information.]
I need my sword.

Um, pardon me, but if you're trying to figure out where you are, the island is called New Moore.

Balder approaches it with caution, holding the chair that used to stand in the corner of the room above his head.]
I am unfamiliar with such a realm.
[His voice sounds firm.]
Who are you? And how did you end up inside the small mirror? Magicks perhaps?
no subject
[Okay, she might not know much about phones, but she's pretty sure he'll break his if he hits it with the chair.]
W-wait, put the chair down! It's okay! Really, it is. These, um... things are called "phones"; it's how people here talk to one another when they're not nearby. I don't exactly know how they work, only that they do.
no subject
[The chair goes down but that still does not explain how this young maiden got inside said mirror. Or phone...or... Something clicks in his head.]
Hold on. This device is meant for communication?
[He looks wary and absolutely not at ease. What dangers lay ahead?]
Can you see me through that...phone?
no subject
[She nods, and tries to put on a reassuring smile.]
Sort of; I can see whatever is put in front of the glass part.
no subject
Are we in danger? And what is the purpose of all of this?
[He had to be here with a reason of some sort. After all, there was no pleasure in putting people in a strange room, surrounded by odd devices and furnitures and do nothing. There had to be a catch. Somewhere...]
no subject
As for the purpose... the pamphlet says none of us were real before and now we are, and this place is supposed to get everyone ready to be released into "the real world". I... don't think I can believe it, and I don't think anyone else here does either, but that's really kind of the only answer we're given.
[The entire island is strange, alright; frankly, Rapunzel's only keeping positive because, well, for one, it's what she does, and for another, none of the other citizens have given her cause for concern for her well-being.]
no subject
I have read that. And I do not believe it.
[And there wasn't any proof either. Balder always thought of himself as quite real. So he shakes his head firmly.
When he speaks again the tone of his voice seems a bit milder.]
Is there a place where I can retrieve my sword?
no subject
I don't think so, but I think you can probably find a new sword somewhere. It doesn't look like items from home come with anyone.
[For instance, both her trusty frying pan and Pascal are woefully missing from her person and from New Moore.]
no subject
Nay, a new sword won't do at all.
[He shakes his head firmly and puts his hands in his sides.]
Hmph. Are there others from Asgard here that you know of?
[Maybe he did not come alone... Maybe not everything was a rather large mess...]
no subject
Maybe, just maybe, you dropped it once you got here? Accidentally? Well, if it was on you when you were brought here, that is. I mean... everyone has their own clothes and stuff -the things that were on their backs before waking up here- but other items -things from home- aren't appearing. I know it's a long shot, but it might not hurt to look. Just to be sure.
[Rapunzel offers an apologetic and hopeful half-smile, though that vanishes as she considers his question.]
To be honest, I don't even know what Asgard is.
voice;
So she uses her newfound skills with technology, and doesn't turn on the video just yet. It seems cruel, to surprise him with what is going to be a hard explanation, right off the bat.]
Balder? Balder, it is Sif. Tell me where you are in the city and I will come find you.
voice;
Well, a bit older but...oh he is relieved. At least one of his comrades has been able to follow him here.]
Sif? Ah, I am glad to hear of you. Is everything well? I am...
[But where is he...? Back to the booklet it is!]
...ah. Four Saisons hotel.
[There is a witty remark on the tip of his tongue but he refrains from saying it. After all, reunions and finding a way out was more important right now.]
voice;
You must open the door and tell me what room, or come outside and meet me, Balder. I will explain everything when I get there.
voice;
I am unable to retrieve my sword...the one the All-Father gave me.
[He produces a very worried sound followed by a huff.]
I will wait for you outside of this building.
[He hesitates a couple of minutes before he moves to grab the 'phone' and leaves his room and starts to run through the hallway. He better makes it quick without a decent weapon on him.]
video.
After all, he's already broken two phones, but Loki did assure him that this case would assist him in this third one. (Not through negligence, but through his hands sometimes being too forceful.)]
... Balder?
video.
Balder presses the buttons a couple of times while peering at the screen.
Could that be...? By every hair on Odin's beard!]
Thor?!
[Wait...how did he became so old?]
Did that wicked Loki put a spell on you?
video.
[Age tends to imply wisdom and if not that, power.]
I would ask the same of you, but stranger things have occurred here.
video.
Aye. You are probably right, Thor.
[After speaking he shakes his head, obviously relaxing a bit more.]
Thank the Nine Realms Loki did not come with me.
video.
[How does he say this?]
The youngest of them is my ally.

It takes at least ten minutes before he picks the smartphone up again, looking at it with narrowed eyes. Perhaps it is not a mirror.]
...but what will it be?
[His voice is soft and the image that gets broadcasted changes from Balder's face to the ceiling and the sheets of the bed.]

for the moment he bides his time, listening to Thor speak to him not far away, choosing a more opportune moment to open his mouth. he knew that Balder wouldn't be as forgiving as either Thor were. surprising an already confused Asgardian would not be a good idea.
(he winces a bit at "that wicked Loki," and continues to eavesdrop.)]
