Is it just me, or is the magic in this world really messed up? Unless there's an actual explanation for what's causing the weird stuff, but I sure as heck haven't heard anything on that front.

oh i dont know about that
if it was within my power to work it out i would do it just to see how its done if nothing else
but when i try to go looking there are spots in time i cant move to or times when i cant do anything but move linearly which makes tracing causality more or less impossible
