Just as a fair warning, please be careful out on the streets today. On my way to the surgery, I noticed some packs of feral dogs that may or may not be very, very sick. At the very least, they're quite aggressive, as one bit me on the arm, completely unprovoked. That would be why the surgery opened late this morning, since I had to go to the hospital to get a rabies shot. I apologise to those who may have had their schedules disrupted because of it. If you do happen to be bitten by them, wash the wound with antibacterial soap and apply pressure with a clean, dry cloth and come see me or a doctor at the hospital immediately.

What if an animal got bit by one of the dogs? Do you still need it to do that shot thing or is that just for people?

Pets should hopefully be up-to-date on their shots, which should include rabies. I'm not sure, but I do believe that they can get a shot soon after being potentially exposed to the rabies virus... But I'm not really a veterinarian, either.

And what do rabies do exactly? Did that shot remove it on you? It's not super deadly or anything, right?

It's.. actually a rather fatal disease. Makes your brain sick. You get aggressive and attack people, usually by biting. It's usually found in mammals, I think. If taken soon enough, the medication can usually take care of it fairly quickly.

What about reptiles? It sounds completely horrible. Do you have even medicine for that if it wasn't just you and all those dogs actually have it?

I.. don't think they can get the disease... but if they've been bitten, they still will probably need medical help.
