Just as a fair warning, please be careful out on the streets today. On my way to the surgery, I noticed some packs of feral dogs that may or may not be very, very sick. At the very least, they're quite aggressive, as one bit me on the arm, completely unprovoked. That would be why the surgery opened late this morning, since I had to go to the hospital to get a rabies shot. I apologise to those who may have had their schedules disrupted because of it. If you do happen to be bitten by them, wash the wound with antibacterial soap and apply pressure with a clean, dry cloth and come see me or a doctor at the hospital immediately.

I.. don't believe that reptiles can even carry rabies. Have you been bitten? Is it a venomous reptile?

No, not venomous. I was only hypothetically bitten.

It.. depends on the severity of the bite but... I don't imagine that rabies should be your primary concern. Is it bad enough that you would like me to have a look at it?

And we are ignoring the part where I attempted to make it a hypothetical situation. No, that's okay. I've had worse. The primary concern was kind of the rabies part.

In my profession, we tend not to treat hypotheticals as hypotheticals. Takes up less time that way.

If you begin to notice any signs of infection, come see me at once.

Yeah, okay. Infection treatment being...?

Antibiotics, mostly. You can keep infection at bay by thoroughly cleaning the wound with antibacterial soap and water, and by keeping it covered with a clean bandage until it heals.
