Ah... I may have helped a friend sneak into the hospital this past week, when they were only letting family in to see patients. A friend of mine appeared to have been stabbed rather severely, and it was uncertain whether he'd recover.

And...because you work at the station...you broke a rule. But...I don't see it as being that big of a deal. You were trying to help a friend out. One that was worried for the other.

Your friend, that one that got stabbed, have they at least recovered?

He just fine, thankfully - once the island decided to stop messing with us, the wound disappeared as if it had never been.

And... I don't know. I can't really say I expected something this extreme, but then the government has never been exactly fair about everything. Besides which, people have had more extreme punishments for breaking into the hospital - some of us think there are secrets about why or how we get here in the hospital, but nobody's ever gotten far enough to tell. It's certain that they take trespassing there far more seriously than anywhere else on the island, and they have more security than would be reasonable for just a hospital, however.

So no matter what you do, you can't get your job back. That...it makes sense if they're trying to keep secrets hidden they wouldn't want anyone else there after hours.

They had some contingencies. Never for quite this situation, though, and we're a bit past the usual statute of limitations on such things.

Ah, I suppose I should simply say, they had some general ideas and guidelines, but for the most part, I'm acting on my own. The overall goals are the same, of course - it seems to be mostly our resources that have changed.

[Sheska, for once, is not freaking out. She's too tired, really. Instead she stares dumbly into the camera and blinks. Ten full seconds go by before she says, in a blank, colorless voice:]

[Somehow Aisling's lack of concern was comforting.] The hospital wouldn't let Haruhi in to see Kyon after he'd been stabbed, so I sneaked her in. They caught us on the way out.

I agree. However, we really shouldn't be expecting this particular government to be fair or reasonable.

Besides which, there have been hints in the past that the hospital holds the keys to some of the secrets of the island. They probably thought I was trying to spy on them and gather potentially dangerous information. So I can't say I'm surprised.
