How do you feel about some of the more difficult times in the country's past? That kind of guilt ...does it stay with you? Some of the things on the Midnight Channel were pretty heavy. I don't want to assume that we're going to be going in there dealing with it like he's the same. There's a lot more baggage than just one life. There's a lot of lives that make up a country.

i'm a kind of weird case cause i've never really been a country on my own
so i guess in a way i've been the one getting shitty stuff done to me a lot
but i think that everyone has stuff that they regret

and being a country, its not just like you're you
like everyone is depending on you and sometimes it feels like it's us versus them
like a zero-sum game, you know? you can't win if the other guy does
there've been people who feel differently but as a country it's hard not to

and then there's the power thing
there's stuff you think is only natural to do at the time because you were afraid of getting wiped out or your people were starving or just 'cause it's what everyone else was doing or you thought the other guy'd do the same to you
or just 'cause you want to you do it and then after the fact you get older and the system changes or people change or something and you can't help regretting it

looted
and passed around and stuff

and spain was a big jerk about it at the time don't get me wrong

i dunno you cant take stuff like that back and feeling sorry isn't the same as making it right!!!
