WHO: Anybody
WHAT: Looting
WHEN: Jan. 13-16
WHERE: All over town
WARNINGS: Violence.
NOTES: I'm going to open this up to everybody who wants to action out the looting parts of the crisis. How this goes! Do you want to participate in looting plots? Just start a thread, probably mention the date & place, mark it open if you want everyone to drop by or closed if you want to play out something with just one other person, and go from there. Reply to other people's threads! Looting and vigilante shenanigans is what I'm saying. Uh, also please note that if you mark it open and you are looting stuff that is like saying 'hey people keeping the peace please come beat me up!'
Looting has gripped the town, everyone's essentially going crazy, and keeping the peace has fallen to, who knows why, whatever Fictionals have decided to try to keep the peace. Nobody said the end of the world was going to be fun.

[Artemis will be in costume and patrolling the town pretty consistently over these days fighting looters and trying to keep all violence to a minimum. Feel free to run into her anytime anywhere.]

How many do you think there are?

[Gesturing at the corner, around which there's a great deal of violent noise, rhythmic chanting, and incoherent noise, he points at a sign on the ground, one reading 'no release for REAL people'.]
no subject
Wow, this looks like so much fun.
Ready when you are.

[Tim sweeps dramatically around the corner and opens with a salvo of smoke bombs. He doesn't have the budget for tear gas, but the red pepper he put into them ought to make things at least a little unpleasant. When he does speak, it's sharp, strident -- not quite the Batman growl but the best he can do.]
You've got thirty seconds to disperse peacefully, or you'll find out there are worse things than release.
[And the first few of the mob are already charging from the edges of the cloud -- some of them he missed entirely. Dammit, he wants a better budget... it was worth a try, anyway.]

She backs up his smoke bombs with one of her own and then folds away her bow and grins as the first people reach her. She's been punching people a lot today, but it hasn't gotten old yet. Halfway through folding the second guy onto the ground, she yells at Tim.]
You take me such nice places!
no subject
Everywhere's a nice place, compared to Gotham!
[Four shuriken are the only ranged weapons he has at the moment. He really hates fighting crime on a budget. He throws, aiming for the back of the leg. Three throws, two hamstrings. Third throw misses. He imagines the expression on Bruce's face at that, the almost imperceptible narrowing on the eyes. Now it isn't just a math problem. It's psychology. With this many enemies, he can't afford to give them a moment of confidence, or to believe that he or Artemis is capable of failure. He throws at the third man again, a solid center-mass shot to the solar plexus. The man shouts in pain, and stops advancing.
Great. Now there are four of them coming at him, four more at Artemis, and one hanging back, waiting for more of them to come out of the smoke.]

[Tim's going for ranged weapons. She understands the reasons, but it's a lot easier to avoid thinking about the fact that she's probably going to die in a couple of days when she's fighting hand to hand.
There's four guys closing with her. They're angry and desperate, bigger than her, two have car jacks and a third has a picket sign. She's still got the advantage - experience, training, her own anger. Plus the first move, a leap and kick that takes the first guy down like a stone, leaving only three. She spares a glance towards Tim, though she suspects he's got this handled, and then moves. Block, drop, spin kick, a fist to a stomach as she comes back up and a quick spin gives a knee to a groin.]

One stop thrust to the chest, followed by a leg sweep as the first assailant stumbles back. Down and out. Bruised sternum, maybe a concussion. These guys are angry, but they're not trained. He needs to be careful. The second guy grabs the staff -- great. He rocks back on his heels, pulls him off balance, and with a double-footed kick lofts him into the air over him. Stunned when he lands, probably nothing broken.
The smoke is starting to clear. They need to finish this fast, and impressively, before it gets out of hand.]
Any bright ideas?
no subject
Hit them until they stay down. Tends to work.
[If only he knew maneuver seven. That's her favorite.]
no subject
Handle anyone who makes it out.
[He vanishes, a snap of his cape and a flicker of movement headed into the cover of the cloud, and shortly thereafter the sounds of violence conspicuously resume.]
no subject
Yeah, this whole waiting for other people to beat the bad guys up thing is boring and also irritating. Nobody's coming out of here looking to cause trouble. She wades into the smoke and lays into the first guy she sees.]

Looks fixed to me.
no subject
You're good.
no subject
I took my training to heart.

[No offense to Ollie, after all. But his style was much flashier than hers. Big, showy movements; messier and more satisfying hits rather than efficient takedowns.]
no subject
No. I had a couple different teachers.
no subject
He just hated to leave a mystery unsolved.]
We make a pretty good team.
[Easier to admit because it's obviously true.]
Still. Maybe next time we can do a little more scaring, a little less punching. If there is a next time. It's easier on the knuckles.
no subject
Yeah, we did.
[ She shrugs. Yeah, her hands hurt a little bit now, but that's what gloves are for. Also it's a lot more satisfying. ]
Well, if you can come up with a good way to scare people, sure.

[No need to patrol together further at the moment. Ninja vanish time.]

[Cindy will be breaking into any government buildings she can find and copying any and all information she can find to try and figure it out. Keeping-the-peace types, feel free to try and stop her. (Coming with the warning that she's been training in martial arts and how to kill people for two hundred years+, so, uh.)]

[Fully armored, armed, and shrouded in tech armor, Shepard looks rather different than he does in a police uniform. Like Cindy, he's focusing on government buildings, searching for any signs of higher technology, or even just where the Hell people have been vanishing to.]

[ Eridan doesn't know what he's gonna do with all these Juanes TV's... but he knows he doesn't want other people to get them! That would be if he stopped shooting this laser gun indiscriminately around the electronics section. ]

SON OF A WWHORE!!
[ Fuckkkkk that hurts. Okay, to be honest it only grazes the corner of his forehead, knocking his glasses clear off his face. Eridan kneels on the ground to pick them up, please don't be broken! The lens, that's fine, but not the frames! They were mad expensive and I hope you're proud of yourself, Yosuke. ]
no subject
Shit, shit, shit!!!
[Preparation thrown to the wind, he makes a dash at Eridan and tries to rugby-slide the gun out of his hands.]
no subject
He has no idea who this person is. ]
Fuck off, wwould you??
[ snarls and aims an elbow right at Yosuke's throat. ]
no subject
Like hell I will!!

Do I evven knoww you??
