I think sometimes I can understand why people say working on the Police force can be a disheartening job. It feels great, helping people. But when you can't, or when you're too late to do anything to stop it... it's a bit harder to think about all the great things we do for people. Sometimes it just starts to feel like no matter how hard you try, you're always a step behind the bad guys.

I wish I had an answer for you, Jenny. I'm afraid I don't - there seem to be a whole plethora of reasons, and none that make any kind of sense to someone as good as you.

It isn't even a war. This person's taking civilian lives for no understandable reason and we don't even have a lead on the suspect. Or a clue as to how they are doing it.

[So it was another murder in that case. Oh Jenny, he'd protect you from it if he could, but you'd never allow that. And as sad as that makes him, it also makes him very proud.]

The Master is still on the loose somewhere. And he's far too clever to let me find him if he really wants to hide. This isn't his style, though. There's something else at work.

I know, Jenny. We just have to keep working on it, and we'll stop them eventually.

I want you to know that you make me very, very proud of you.
