Sounds like we've got a new project, then. Well, after this thing with the prison.

It wouldn't be likely that there would be traces still in his cell, would there?

No. That's not the way it works.

If I'd been able to get some baselines of the cell to do a before and after, we could look for evidence of ionizing radiation, but with just the 'after' shot, there's not much we could do.

Well, getting anything is better than nothing. Shame we didn't get in on this right away. Would be helpful if this wasn't so damn random.

Back home, when we'd get things coming through the Rift, we could usually detect a spike in the energy it gives off, making it predictable up to the second. We need that here. Even if we can't stop it, just having it so that people can say their goodbyes would be enough.

The kind of equipment needed is large, complicated, and expensive. It's going to take a while to set up.

While we're at it, if we can find a deep and isolated enough site underground, I'd like a neutrino detector, as well.
