[Have a view of a slightly frustrated Sirius Black, New Moore. He is unaffected by the event, but already fantastical enough to kind of fit the setting well enough anyway. And he has an announcement to make.]

A couple of things, since there seems to be widespread misinformation concerning my person.

For one, I'm a wizard, not a witch.

I do not have a gingerbread house. That seems awfully impractical, anyway.

I do not want, need or have any step-children. Or biological children, for that matter.

I also do not live anywhere called Oz and Oz isn't my name, either.

I have never cursed anyone to sleep for some ridiculously long and weirdly specific amount of time.

That said: Yes, I might be the fairest in all the land.

Also, I might not be an evil queen, but if people keep insisting on trying to eat my store and ask me to curse them so they can get true love's kiss, I might become a very irritable wizard, which is much the same.

Really? I didn't know that. [Loki never mentioned. Neither of them.]

Where I come from, witches and wizards are equal.

[That might be because Sif is old, far older than either of those versions, old enough to remember when she was the only girl in the classes for warriors until Brunnhilde came along, and Loki the only boy in the lessons for magic.]

I did not say they were unequal, only that it was not typically done when I was growing up.

What's the men's art, then?

To be warriors. Or so it was, when I was young, and the only girl training with a sword. Now it is different. And as a rule we do not approve of more...indirect methods.

[So magic, not always cool, when you're relying on that primarily. Loki. Amora.]

Ah... Well, where I come from, we fight with magic. I s'pose if anything, the more direct methods are disapproved of.

Not many people that punch in a duel.

And in Asgardia we could not conceive of a fight in which no punches were thrown. To be underhanded, to be anything less than direct, is to be a coward.

[They are Viking gods, after all, even if they came before the Vikings.]

Just a different way of being direct, I'd say. Different ways of fighting.

We do have cowards, but they tend to not fight nearly as well.

I am not sure I understand how direct it is. Am I missing something?

Probably just different styles of fighting. I'm used to it, I know how it feels. Seems odd to think of it as anything other than direct.

You are Midgardian. We understand that you have chosen to do things differently. Though I am somewhat surprised in this, I guess. I thought all your devices eliminated any need of magic in battle.

I'm a wizard. Our culture's a bit different from the mu... the Midgardian culture you're referring to. Different devices, different life styles.

I have known human wizards and superheroes. I am well aware of the deviations.

Then you should have no reason to be surprised, eh?

I highly doubt I will cease finding Midgardians strange any time soon.

Perhaps if you opened your mind enough to realize there are many different types of Midgardians, it might surprise you a little less next time.

Perhaps you ought to think very carefully about what you say before you presume to lecture on what you believe you understand about my mind, if you wish your tongue to remain in your head.

This is all becoming very hypothetical and I'm not even sure why I'm being threatened, so maybe we ought to not take it further.
