Right, so. Let me see if I understand everything here.
My life, my entire being was nothing more than someone's cooked up, crack pipe idea. That who I am and everything else about me wasn't real, but now I'm real. Like the damned puppet from that story. Could never really stand it, even as a kid.
Heh, great. Really that's just fucking great. I don't have to worry about anything more, right? That's supposed to be the beauty in having this 'clean slate' here, ain't it?
You know what, don't answer that. Just leave me the hell alone.

What do you do to wind down, then?
no subject
Bottle of whiskey or gin, though vodka works every now and then. Got any of that?

Have to meet someone first, but how about the Nancy Pheony in about an hour.
no subject
[Wait till you actually meet him, Sarah. That'll be fun. Not that he means to drink with her, but still.]
no subject
She'll be at Nancy's, sitting alone in a far corner. Her talk with the Doctor left her very...urgh, she doesn't want to think about it for the moment.]
no subject
Your bottle of vodka, ma'am.
no subject
Didn't think you'd show up.
no subject
Yeah? You must be used to a lot of people who chicken out of things.
Can you drink it all yourself?
no subject
No, I'm used to people who are past their high school years.
[Looks over the bottle before giving him a grin.] Not all in one go. [Would offer to share, but...he's a kid. The whole 'trying to be a better person' thing is still sticking with her.
Besides she doesn't need to be thrown into island jail (if it exists) for giving alcohol to a minor.]
Don't you have a curfew or somethin'?
no subject
Can't be for that long.
[And he appreciates that, actually. Because alcohol and Dick Grayson don't mix well. He grins and sets the bottle down on the table, slipping into the chair across from her and hitching one heel at the edge of it, leaning the shin against the table.]
Nah, I just got here today, nobody's thought to give me one. I'm sure it'd get more complicated if there were school, but. No such thing. And you look like you can use some company, and I'm asterous company.
no subject
It's been long enough since then.
[Let's out a scoff of a laugh. He seems pretty sure of himself to think he's that great of company. As long as he's not some bratty teenager she'll let him hang around...for now.]
Just got here and already hanging in bars? Reminds me of someone I know. [Her. In her teenaged years she picked up some bad habits.]
no subject
Hey, you picked the spot. Besides, how'm I suppose to know what the place is like unless I go exploring?
no subject
It's the only place I knew of and I thought you were here longer than me. Didn't think there might be any diners here, least of all a pub.
no subject
Right. Though nobody's really warned me about the lack of amenities, so I suppose most people find someplace to hang out, eventually.
[He cants his head to one side, slightly bird-like.]
So. No sports, yes alcohol. I'll venture a guess to no books, yes people?
no subject
No to both. [Though she's been known to make exception, like in this case.]
Books are fine if you're bored out of your mind and people? Don't like to be around too many.
no subject
[Which might or might not be an invitation for her to listen to when he makes posts. If she's curious.]
[A tilted head, then he nods.]
So what do you find to like when there is no alcohol? I'm sure there are such times, sooner or later.
no subject
Haven't had much time to think about that. [Not when her life was turned upside, finding out she's a clone. Finding other clones, one of which is trying to kill them and who turns out to be her twin sister...and only thinking about it makes her open the bottle and pour herself a shot.]
I hung out with my brother, that's pretty much it.
no subject
Some people will always chatter. Others manage to get some useful information out.
[Then Dick tilts his head.]
Oh. I'm sorry if he's not here. I mean, I'm just finding out about brothers in this place, the closest I had, you know, as far as easily-explained family goes, was a cousin.
no subject
It's fine, better he be as far away from this place as possible. [Along with Kira along with Allison and Cosima who ...could be sisters? Ehh, no it's already complicated enough, no need to add family labels to them.]
no subject
[Pause.]
You really don't like this place.

no subject
No, the moment they take you and force you to be part of their experiments or some shit, that's when you have the right to dislike them entirely.
no subject
They didn't do it.
[She has a point. But he doesn't let go of his optimism and affection easily.]
