Hello. My name is Aqua and new to this...island.

Am I to understand everything that was told to me in the hospital is true? That my existence...and everything I know, was as imaginary as the worlds and characters in books? I find this very hard to believe, though from what I'm told my skepticism is "normal".

I digress, if anyone knows of Ven or Terra or if they are here please, let me know. Any and all information would be helpful.

Yes, Ven. It's short for Ventus. He's one of my best friends. Do you know him, Miss....?

... no. I have no idea who he is. But a boy said I looked like him... and I couldn't figure out why.

[ She turns on her video so Aqua can see her. ]

My name is Xion.

[watersacrificed]

[She blinks when the video is suddenly turned on for her to see..Ven? But the image of her friend disappears to reveal a girl. Strange...this is all very strange.]

Nice to meet you. [Pause.] The eyes. He had blue eyes too.

[ ... a little hesitant ]

I ... guess that could be it. ... it's nice to meet you too, Aqua. Um, no one really knows what to think about what the doctors tell us, but... I think a lot of people don't believe them.

[doublebladed]

They're pretty adamant about everything being fictional. But I'm still not totally convinced either.

[watersacrificed]

[There's a light sigh of relief. Good to know she's not the only one thinking that.]

How can they have the technology to bring "fictional" people or beings to this place--!! [There's a little shuffling as the device slips out of her hands and in the process causes the video to turn on.]

....Ven?

[Oh hi there Aqua. Roxas just blinks into the device curiously. Sorry, not the doofy key-wielding blonde you're looking for. The first part of her question is going to be completely ignored in favor of focusing on the second part.]

...no. [He definitely looks a little more than confused as to where that had come from, but he won't ask just yet.] Who's Ven?

[Her eyes look at him on the screen, trying to search for something that clearly isn't there. There was a tiny bubble of hope, but now it's gone. He's not Ven, a lookalike, but not her best friend.

There's a pause as her guard comes up.] A friend, someone I haven't seen in a long time.

[doublebladed]

A friend. [A beat. He's still watching her as she's examining him, and even though he can't figure out what would make her think he's this Ven guy, he can tell it was important to know if he was or not.] Like a best friend?

Honestly, from what I've understood, it's just their way of understanding people coming from different worlds.

[watersacrificed]

Do they mean to study us then? Better yet...how do they even know different worlds exist?

[inherited]

They don't. See, that's the trick. They don't understand what's going on, so this is their way of explaining it.

[watersacrificed]

Why not tell us, though? It would be beneficial to work on a solution together, unless there's more going on than that.

People are afraid of the unknown.

My best friend ... he runs into lots of people who aren't up for the weird outsider thing when he goes places to help. Not always, but it's generally a good idea not to let people know about what's going on.

The kind of outrageous claims the hospital makes haven't been proven to anyone's satisfaction, if proving something like that is possible. Under circumstances like that, skepticism shouldn't even be considered normal. Instead, you could call it the default state, something almost as steady as universal constants like the pull of gravity and the speed of light.

[Color her slightly impressed.] You've had a lot of time to think about that...but my question is, why bring us here in the first place? If we're only characters who are brought into reality, what's the outcome? What's the consequence?

They won't answer the first question, and since I don't accept the absic premise of the other two, I haven't bothered inquiring.

Do you think it's because they themselves have no idea what's going on? it would be a better explanation than bringing 'fictional' people into existence.

It's one of my favorite theories.

It's kind of obvious that they're not used to people coming in from different worlds, but I gotta admit claiming everyone who does is fictional is new and unpleasant.

They could've used a better explanation, but if they're understanding of different worlds is limited...[Sighs. How is it so many people know about different worlds?] There's no reason to keep us in the dark.

If we're being optimistic, it might not be on purpose. Stories between worlds end up passed along as myth all the time. They might think we're literally from stuff they've heard about or whatever. [waves that off] Buuut let's be real, since this place's exits are blocked off, that theory's kind of unlikely.

We can keep the optimistic side of it in mind, but the reality of it...is different from that.

We are being taken from different worlds and my concern becomes, what are the consequences?

I'd make you a list of pros and cons, but I haven't quite got that part covered yet. So the consequences are really just up in the air so far.
