"So please do your best to acclimate yourself to this reality as quickly as possible."

Okay, look. This is all well and good for…whatever it is they're trying to do, but I really, really don't have time for this.
[It's okay, Harry, we know you're inwardly freaking out about waking up suddenly absolutely not dead. There is a reason that he's keeping the video off for now.] I suppose they don't care about that, do they?

Right. Anyway, here's my question. Is there anyone who actually thought they were fictional before arriving here, or are we just believing what we've been told since there's nothing else to go off of? Because no offense, but the last seventeen years of my life have been a bit too chaotic to be anything but real. I can't imagine why anyone would want to fictionalize my life in the first place. Also, fictional or not, can anyone tell me what happens to our lives back where we came from? Do they just stop existing? It's really important that I get an answer.

...er. I think that's all for now. Thanks.

[We do have dead people, and people from aborted timelines (or however that works. Homestuck.); not sure how it works for ghosts. :)]

Indeed, it often seems that way.

We've tried, but with no success, as far as I am aware. People appear, disappear, and reappear - or not - seemingly at random. Some people have been here for years. Others will disappear and reappear several times in a year. They comes from various points in their personal timelines back home, and they never remember their previous visits.

It is true that some universes seem more popular than others - some people have all sorts of friends and enemies showing up, while others never see anyone from back home. Again, there is no discernible pattern. It is also true that a majority of people - or at least a plurality - seem to be human and come from some version of late 20th or early 21st century Earth. If we believe the multiple reality theory, perhaps some realities are somehow 'closer' than others, and thus there is a greater probability of people of those worlds appearing.

Alas, though we may have enough information to be asking some of the correct questions, we simply do not have enough to be drawing any concrete solutions.

As to what the doctors believe they are doing, who can say?

Let's see... Ah. I arrived here about exactly one year ago. Plus a few days, I believe.

Would freaking out about it help me get off this island? Evidence suggests it would not.

Like it or not, I live here now - I have friends here, old and new. I have a job, and a responsibility, at the police department. I may as well try to make the best of it.

We've already had people try that. Someone incited a riot and managed to crash a spaceship into the visitor's center, and that only got them noticed enough to have them arrested. And that was only after the spaceship - as far as I am aware, there was little to no official response to the riot.

As normally as we are able, at any rate, living among wizards and mutants and superheroes and aliens on an island that can't seem to decide what the laws of physics should be.

Indeed, a spaceship - it was found out in the forest, I believe, buried underground. As I understand, the man had some sort of control magnetic fields, so he was both able to raise it from the ground and throw it into the visitor's center.

And it certainly doesn't seem to make sense - from our perspective, at least. It's entirely possible that everything happening here is based on a logical and consistent set of rules, and that to someone who can see the whole picture, it makes perfect sense. It is simply that whatever rules it may be based on are very clearly not the rules we are familiar with.
