But are the two Lokis the same from different times, or different versions of one another entirely?

Once, it was a matter of confusion, but Asgardians know there are many different versions of our story. We are stories ourselves, so we adjust to what changes are made. But my comrades did struggle with it at first. As they should. They are mortal, and they do not function the same way.
