There's a terrible noise in the background as she puts out a mass call over the network for a single young man.]

Hiccup! Can you hear me? The sink, it... it's roaring at me-- no, growling! There must be a monster or something terrible living in it, and I don't know what to do, and it won't stop!

[That's right folks, Rapunzel has unfortunately discovered the garbage disposal. And who can be bothered to read the unopened mail on the counter when the sink immediately next to it has "come alive" and is on the offense?]

The garbage disposal. It's simply a machine, placed under the sink to shred food waste into small enough pieces that they won't clog the plumbing.

Well, I was trying to turn the ceiling lanterns on with the wall levers. But I think I got to close to the sink and upset the monster, so when I did, it started growling at me.

Garbage disposal? I thought that's what the lined cans were for...

You'd think so, wouldn't you, but experience has taught me that Americans simply must have at least three things to do the same bloody job. There should be a switch near the sink. You must have turned it on.

[She takes a deep breath and steadies herself.]

Okay, let me see if turning it off works...

[Braving the terrible noise, she carefully approaches the sink and switch, flicking it off with the extended reach her frying pan graciously offers. The noise whirs down to nothing, and she breathes a sigh of relief.]

That worked... I can't believe that worked! Thank you so much, Mister ...?
