That being the case, I'm going to throw open the doors, and everyone is welcome to come check out the TARDIS swimming pool! I've got lots of towels and swimsuits, if you don't have one of your own to bring. And plenty of rubber ducks!!

Just look for the blue police box in the courtyard, you can't miss it!

A swimming pool is basically a man-made pond that they use to go swimming, or just as a place to cool off or spend time with friends.

Well, it's the least I could do! I have a swimming pool, and I wasn't using it. I didn't even realize it was so hot until today, and that was only from the network!

I don't know how to swim, I'm afraid, but even just a chance to dip my feet in the water would be lovely, if you're sure I wouldn't be intruding. Is the TARDIS able to keep everything cool, then, that you didn't notice? [She sounds a little wistful.] Or is it just this warm all the time where you're from?

It's a little of both, actually - the TARDIS is a separate dimension, so the heat from the outside can only get in when I open the front doors, and even when that happens, the TARDIS is so large it never even makes a difference.

That being the case, however, it is true that timelords are accustomed and adapted to much more extreme temperatures than humans are.
