So I notice that everyone seems to think it's way too hot out!

That being the case, I'm going to throw open the doors, and everyone is welcome to come check out the TARDIS swimming pool! I've got lots of towels and swimsuits, if you don't have one of your own to bring. And plenty of rubber ducks!!

Just look for the blue police box in the courtyard, you can't miss it!

[Someone's lying on her living room floor in the dark, letting a fan play with her hair and she still looks like she's been complimented and stuck in an oven recently. It's too much work to text, and she'd meant for it to just be audio, but she's too limp to bother changing it now. She sounds a bit breathless and exhausted.]

You have a swimming pool in the TARDIS as well?

Course I do! Why wouldn't I?

[Oh Doctor. Always so enthusiastic. It brings out a smile, though.]

I keep forgetting that it just keeps going. It's awfully nice of you to invite everyone in, Doctor.

There's a smile! [It brings out one of his own, warm and wide and happy.] If that's all it takes, I'll have to invite you to go swimming more often!

Well, it's the least I could do! I have a swimming pool, and I wasn't using it. I didn't even realize it was so hot until today, and that was only from the network!

[Drawing attention to it makes her smile take on a slightly self-conscious edge, but she doesn't drop it.]

I don't know how to swim, I'm afraid, but even just a chance to dip my feet in the water would be lovely, if you're sure I wouldn't be intruding. Is the TARDIS able to keep everything cool, then, that you didn't notice? [She sounds a little wistful.] Or is it just this warm all the time where you're from?

If you wanted to learn, I'm sure the TARDIS would be more than happy to help teach you!

It's a little of both, actually - the TARDIS is a separate dimension, so the heat from the outside can only get in when I open the front doors, and even when that happens, the TARDIS is so large it never even makes a difference.

That being the case, however, it is true that timelords are accustomed and adapted to much more extreme temperatures than humans are.
