[ it's a beautiful evening. the moon is waxing, the stars are just beginning to prick the night sky, and behold! there is mistletoe hanging in every nook and cranny you can think of. whether you are taking a stroll outside for a late-night cup of coffee, just came out of your favorite cafe, are taking a walk by the snowy beach, or possibly just innocent strolling down the hall of your apartment, it is there.

whoever steps beneath it may not know it, but suddenly the person standing beside them, passing by, or walking in the opposite direction suddenly looks a lot more attractive. maybe their inhibitions just got shot to all hell. whatever it is, it's time to pucker up. ]

[Hong Kong lifts his head up ever-so-slightly at Souji's voice - as far he's concerned, the only silver lining to this whole place is that he essentially has won the competition for cutest/cleanest/most conscientious roommate, and he intends to enjoy that sliver of joy for as long as possible.]

Sorry, I was gonna clean up some of this mess, but it just seems to get worse and worse.

[Only a partial untruth - probably he would have made an effort to straighten things up were he not busy feeling spectacularly sorry for himself. As if to emphasize the ridiculousness of their situation, a sprinkle of glittery snow takes that moment to fall from the ceiling and dust both of them lightly.

Hong Kong can't even manage a snide comment - just stares long-sufferingly at his roommate through his bangs.]

[ if only he knew Hong Kong-san thought so much of him. he absently pats a deer on the behind as he approaches him to be ... petted. he mutters something that sounds suspiciously close to "not now" and the deer pouts (if you could call it that), and slinks away.

Souji takes one good look at their surroundings and sighs. he'd already retired to not getting himself worked up about it, which is what he usually ends up retiring to. nonetheless it was still a little ironically hilarious.

so he sits at the end of the couch, looking down at his roommates face. ]

We'll worry about it when things settle down.
