The Romans are Invading
Oookay. Normally, I would say being told that my life and my wife were fictional would rate pretty high on the list of 'things I never expected to happen in my life' but I've been worse things than fictional, I guess.
I'm sure you are all very nice people, just doing your jobs.
I just have one question for you.
Where. Is. My. Wife.

Where. Is. My. Wife.

I've been here for four months, and a previous regeneration has been here for a couple years, and neither of us have been able to find a way off the island.
... On the bright side, I've heard she's been here before, before I got here! We still don't know where people go when they leave, though.

You said we would find her. We are getting off this island. Weare finding my wife, and then we are going to rescue her from whatever or whoever kidnapped her and we are getting my wife back.

I promised, Doctor. I would always. Always. Come for her. No matter what.
Can you promise me she is safe, now? Can you tell me that she is not in any risk of harm or danger and is not alone, somewhere, without me with her?
Because unless you can, I am not giving up. I will never stop trying to find a way to get back to her. Not even if it takes me centuries and a dozen other universes.

And even if not - I can promise you that she is safe, she... will be safe, after you and my past self rescue her. It will happen, Rory. That point wasn't in flux.
Even if we do get off, though, Rory... it's not going to happen right now. I've been here for months, my past self for years.
I haven't stopped trying, Rory, I'm never going to.

[His energy drains a little as it all sinks in and his shoulders slump slightly, the phone loose in his hands. It's not Eleven he's mad at. Not really. All right. maybe a bit because if she had never run off with him- but no. Not mad at the Doctor. Mad with himself, more so. Frustrated and aching inside as well.]
I mean, I don't really. None of this alternate reality ...thing... makes any real sense. But I know you won't give up. I know we'll save her. Because we have to.
[And he believed the Doctor when he said they had -would?- save her, but-]
What do we do?
no subject
We keep our heads, Rory. We look around, investigate, figure out what's going on. There must be clues about this forcefield somewhere, we just have to dig deeper.
And then, maybe, just maybe, we get everyone off this island and back to their own lives.
That is, of course, assuming that neither of us vanish or get killed by monsters or change into a different version of ourselves and don't turn back or get shot by one of the other residents.
Again.
I may have forgotten to mention - reality is a bit more... wibbly, here. Much more than it aught to be.
no subject
Wait- you got shot?
Your assumptions about our survival or lack there of on this island are growing increasingly lax in reassurance.

[He's far to cheerful when he responds to Rory's next question.]
Yep! Right between the hearts - I nearly regenerated!
What are you worried about? Have I ever let you down before?
[Please, Rory - don't answer that question.]

Does this sort of thing always happen when you're around, or are we just extra unlucky?
no subject
Well... I suppose there have been a few time like this before.
... When I say a few, I may mean a few dozen. Hundred. More than a few.
Never quite like this, though! The strangeness is all so... regular.
no subject
Actually, never mind. I don't think I really want to know.
Do you know a Captain Jack Harkness?
no subject
Umm... Be careful around him. He's a little too... well. Friendly, if you know what I mean.

Oh. Shoot. Wait. I forgot that you don't know me yet. Stupid island.

Captain ofwhat exactly?
no subject
Oh, I'm captain of lots of things. Originally it was a title I got back around the London Blitz.

Wait, he seriously hasn't mentioned me? At all?
I think I'm offended.

How are you adjusting? Everything all right?
no subject
I am adjusting perfectly.
no subject
Say, by any chance, you aren't still into Nursing, are you?
no subject
I guess I can skip the 'Hi, I'm Rory Williams, nice to meet you,' bit.
Yes. I am still a nurse.
no subject
Come out for a pint with me. I'd like to get to know you a little better.
no subject
But I guess a pint or two might be okay. Since I am stuck here, anyway.

I must say, however, that I'm intrigued - you've been worse than fictional?
My name it Koizumi Itsuki. Though I wish I could say this under better circumstances, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
Rory Williams, and I am really starting to doubt there will be much pleasant about this place.

[His voice is curious, though not at all incredulous, and he is smiling pleasantly.]
You may have that right - there's nothing particularly positive about our situation. The bright side, of course, are the people here - though they can be a mixed blessing as well, at times.

Well, I'm the Doctor too.
No, actually, he's the Doctor too, I was him first.
