[Did you hear that scream? If not, she's not sure how you missed it while her windows and door were wide open.
Frying pan in hand, she scrambles away from her angry adversary, fumbling to get her phone to call out to her fellow technologically-stunted acquaintance.
There's a terrible noise in the background as she puts out a mass call over the network for a single young man.]
Hiccup! Can you hear me? The sink, it... it's roaring at me-- no, growling! There must be a monster or something terrible living in it, and I don't know what to do, and it won't stop!
[That's right folks, Rapunzel has unfortunately discovered the garbage disposal. And who can be bothered to read the unopened mail on the counter when the sink immediately next to it has "come alive" and is on the offense?]

[ you can time him he'll be there in 1 minute ]

[Is the front door partially open for no good reason in particular? Yes, yes it is. Rapunzel hasn't been very good about closing it while she's home; she doesn't really see a reason why it should be closed then.
Should Hiccup venture in, he'll find her in the kitchen immediately to the left, standing about seven feet back from the sink, frying pan extended for safety's sake.]
action;
And following the sound of angry sink noises, he arrives at the kitchen ...after tripping on her hair ] -Oof! [ and we'll be baffled for 5 seconds because HAIR but okay angry sink noises to worry about. climbs to his feet (foot? whatever). focus! ] Uhhh! Okay. I'm here. -Is that a pan? When did those disturbingly not-running water sounds start?
action;
Sorry--! [For him tripping over her hair; she probably should have warned him about that. Carefully, she sidesteps over to him, keeping the pan extended.]
They started after I lifted one of the lantern wall-levers, the one right next to the sink.
action;
That's okay! [ He's fine. He inches towards the sink then leans forward, peeking into it. Hmmmm. Hiccup looks back at her then to the lever on the wall next to the sink and reaches over ] This one? [ He turns it down and the sound stops. ]
Huh. [ He flips it back and looks closer at the sink ] Well, it's not a monster...
action;
Yes, that's the one.
[Wait, did the lever control the horrid noise? Well, that explains a few things, though it makes for plenty of other questions.]
What do you think it is?
action;
[ and slowly goes to stick his hand down in noise making hole-- but then pulls it back and turns his head to look at her ]
Don't know. I can figure it out though. Gimmie a second. Do you have like a stick or something?
action;
She thinks for a moment and pulls out a wooden cooking skewer from a drawer.]
It isn't too big, but will this work?
action;
That'll work. [ Opens the cabinet under the sink and looks at everything then takes the wooden cooking skewer from her, holds one end of it, and sticks it in the hole and the noise gets louder and OH MY GODS. DROPS IT ]
[ bye skewer. ]
... I hope you didn't need that for anything.
action;
We have more, so it's okay, but... what did it just do?
[Is that a look of horror on her face? Yes, yes it is.]
action;
It ...uh.. ate it? [ Straightens himself out and flips the switch quickly to turn it off. ] Uhhhh. Hold on. We'll figure it out. [ Leaning over the sink and looking at this carefully again. hmmmm what if we stick our hand in there while it's off is that safe? ]
Re: action;
[She nervously wrings her hands around a lock of hair; though she knows she could spare him from suffering from a hurt hand, he'd still have to deal with the initial pain, should the noise-maker injure him. She'd also rather avoid revealing her particular... talent, but she knows she wouldn't hesitate to heal him, either.]
action;
I think it....
[ he leans further and he's gone up to his elbow in there now-- his eyes locked on the switch. down means no noise/no eating-- right? Right. Oh hey is that the skewer? ...Or what's left of it anyway. And blades. Ah. That's definitely what it does. IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. ]
Yep. It grounds everything up into mush so it goes down with the water. Guess it makes it so there's less waste to deal with?
action;
Huh... I would have never expected that! Though I don't see why anyone would put anything down the drain besides water from cleaning dishes and hands.
[Scraping plates; it's something she has done all her life.]
But if it does that, maybe it might be a good idea to take your arm out.
action;
[ He pulls his arm out of there and takes a step back from the sink, rubbing his arm and shrugging once. ]
I think the thing is pretty neat.
action;
[It seems like a pretty nasty danger; there isn't even a sign or a booklet or anything in the apartments or city hall that explains what it is, what it does, and how to use it.]
action;
[ Nevermind that he almost did that 5 minutes ago. ]
action;
[Yeah, what a hypocrite, Hiccup.]
action;
action;
action;
action;
...Thank you, Hiccup.
[In fact, it's such a kind thing to say, that it earns him a thank-you peck on the cheek.
Congrats, you are now on the same level as Hookhand, Hiccup.]action;
That's weird. She didn't punch him first.
Quickly clears his throat and shrugs ]
Uh! Sure, no problem.
action;
She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear and smiles pleasantly.]
Oh, and thanks for figuring out the sink, too.
