Why do you think we've been brought here?

That's not quite what I mean. Say they've got a reason for opening dimensional rifts, and a way to do it at will, but they can't control where it goes or what comes through. There's some evidence for that.

Maybe whatever they're looking for hasn't shown up yet. We're here, in a holding pattern, as... a control group for the experiment. Or ongoing documentation of their past results.

But it's a good avenue of investigation. One we can both agree on.

If it was going to result in a field operation, then I need to know. But information gathering? Detective work? You're free to set your own agenda unless I call everyone up for something higher priority.

And even then, you can argue.
