Meeting In The Park.

What:  An action log for Magneto's meeting of the super-powered.
Who: Anyone who wants to come!  He's hardly checking superpowers at the door!
When: 7 PM, June 11th.
Where: The gazebo at Seaside Park.

Erik stood at the edge of the gazebo, looking out over the sea as the sun set and silently preparing himself.  He was not... public-spirited by nature, and while he felt no fear at the thought of addressing a crowd, nevertheless there was a tension, a nervous excitement.  He could change the balance of power here.  A test run for back home.

Unseen, in the rafters above him, he had set half a dozen large iron ball bearings in a steady orbit.  Their regularity was calming to him, as was the security they could provide him at a moment''s notice.  Reaching out with his senses, he could detect the electrical fixtures in the gazebo, the streetlights that edged the park, the cars on the street, and several dozen other small pieces of metal moving -- belt buckles, coins, cell phone components... sometimes, the familiar shape of a gun.

He continued watching the sea until the first of these collections of metal objects moved toward him, and then -- before it came close enough to make a sound -- turned to see who his first guest was.

"Well there's not many people who can do things like that around here... To people like me, it's very impressive." He laughed a little and took a moment to examine Alphonse. "So, if I may, why the armor? Were you expecting a fight?"

Alphonse laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his helmet. He didn't know how Jack would react, but he also didn't want to lie. And... this meeting was supposedly between people with special powers, so this kind of thing probably wasn't too strange. Besides, he seemed like a nice man, and Al disliked pretending.

"Ahaha, not exactly. Umm... people usually freak out a little at this part. Please try to stay calm. You see, I sort of... lost my body when I was little. Before I was lost forever, my big brother was able to bond my soul onto this armor in exchange for his arm. So until we find a way to get our original bodies back, this armor is my body."

Very nervously, Al took his helmet off.

Well... that wasn't something that Jack was expecting. "Oh," seemed to be all he could manage to say for a minute. "So that means... under this.." He indicated to his little apron, "You'd be totally naked?"

Somehow, the armor looked embarrassed.

"Umm... Well, I.. I guess so. I've never really thought about it like that. It doesn't really mean the same thing anymore, especially when people assume I have a body inside here. Besides, wearing clothes over armor would be silly."

"And you'd have a hell of a time without a tailor." Jack laughed and folded his arms. "So what do you think of this little gathering, so far? Are you having fun?"
ironmeowchemist: (oh no!)

"It's all very interesting. Everyone here can do something pretty unique."

Al's voice was appreciative and curious, looking at the people all around them.

"What about you, Captian? What can you do? And... if you don't mind me asking, what are you Captain of?"
