What:  An action log for Magneto's meeting of the super-powered.
Who: Anyone who wants to come!  He's hardly checking superpowers at the door!
When: 7 PM, June 11th.
Where: The gazebo at Seaside Park.

Erik stood at the edge of the gazebo, looking out over the sea as the sun set and silently preparing himself.  He was not... public-spirited by nature, and while he felt no fear at the thought of addressing a crowd, nevertheless there was a tension, a nervous excitement.  He could change the balance of power here.  A test run for back home.

Unseen, in the rafters above him, he had set half a dozen large iron ball bearings in a steady orbit.  Their regularity was calming to him, as was the security they could provide him at a moment''s notice.  Reaching out with his senses, he could detect the electrical fixtures in the gazebo, the streetlights that edged the park, the cars on the street, and several dozen other small pieces of metal moving -- belt buckles, coins, cell phone components... sometimes, the familiar shape of a gun.

He continued watching the sea until the first of these collections of metal objects moved toward him, and then -- before it came close enough to make a sound -- turned to see who his first guest was.

Al! Why are people looking around the city for some... really short guy?!!

Ah, this is so exciting! To think that I might have been part of some great story, and I didn't even know it! I wonder what kind of story it was... I certainly wouldn't have been a main character... Nothing that exciting happens to be. Not really. I mean, there were a few things, but they mostly happened to other people.

But what if I was just in the beginning of my story? The young heroine before she took up adventuring? Ah~! I don't know how well I'd do, but I wish I had found out!

But really, if this is the real world, I should find the library right away and start reading up on its history!

[There's a sound of running footsteps -- keen listeners will note that one of them sounds heavier than the other, and there's the occasional metallic tick noise. Then, a shout:]

Al! Al!

Hey! Hey you! I'm looking for a big guy in a full suit of armor! Has anyone seen him? He's my little brother --

[From further away from the microphone, there's a disbelieving mutter of "little?"]

Shut up! Just tell me if you've seen him!

Hey, Al!

[ The man who appears on screen looks confused, panicked, and more than just a little lost. He is dressed well, but his state of panic has glossed his brow and disheveled his hair a bit. ]
Tzuh muh luh?

Can anyone help me? I... seem to have lost my crew and my little sister.

Mei mei? If you're out there, can you hear me?

Jen dao mei.

[ He clears his throat and tries to regain his usually considerable composure. ]

If anyone has seen a transport ship, kind of a run-down, beat up little thing, please let me know. My sister is sick and I need to get back to her.
