The most peculiar thing happened to me the other night.

As I was returning home from the police station, I came across this statue that had not been there before. The statue appeared to be an angel holding its face in its hands; it was a horrible, tacky mockery of Grecian sculpture. As I went to inspect it, I noticed that the statue was firmly rooted in place. It must have been placed there deliberately... but by whom? Moving something so heavy is no small feat.

I studied it for some time before deciding it was not worth reporting. After all, kitsch is not illegal.

Unfortunately, that is the last thing I remember before I woke up in the hospital. I've been told that I was struck from behind. It's strange, though. I did not sense anyone else in my immediate area. I'm not sure where my assailant was hiding.

That said, Commander Shepard, I'm afraid I won't be of much use to you until I'm allowed to leave.

At least these hospital walls are more pleasing to look at than that hideous angel.

We have a tip. Until this is resolved, no phones, no radios, text only. Jenny, Beifong, Garrus. Meet me at the elementary school. Five minutes. Expect trouble.

Shirogane, Nein -- Officer Russo is unconscious and handcuffed to the espresso machine. I didn't have time to put him in a cell. Take care of it and hold the fort till we get back.

All other units, I want a two block perimeter and an evacuation cordon set up. Middle of summer so we should be fine, but it's still a school.

How kind of our captors to provide us with comfortable living arrangements. Granted, I'm being made to live with a complete stranger, but I suppose beggars can't be choosers. I can only hope for the best.

( Locked to Shepard & Naoto )

Now then, Commander... your dutiful investigator mentioned something about a job at the police station. What more can you tell me about it?

An alternate reality? Well, it's not the strangest thing I've heard. If we can create technology that enables the user to enter the mind, it does not take any great stretch of imagination to believe that someone has developed the technology to enter other worlds. I may not agree with them on the... fictional nature of my existence, but that is irrelevant at this time. What matters is that I have been brought here, to New Moore, and with no apparent hope of returning to Whispering Rock.

There must be a reason. There is always a reason. I could not gather any information from the minds of these scientists, aside from the fact that they hold fast to their beliefs that we are all fictional. They are severely deluded. Unlike liars who set out with the intention to deceive, those who suffer from delusions genuinely believe the deception themselves. In fact, they believe in it so strongly, it could make a sane person question their own perspective. It is an extremely dangerous state of mind.

But no matter. There is much to learn about this place. I must take care to control my curiosity about these scientists until I know more about the cage in which we have been placed. As interesting a subject as alternate realities may be, I have no particular desire to stay.

Besides, they could at least have given me a lab.
