Marauding Magic opens its doors!
Who: Remus, Sirius and anyone else who comes by
What: Marauding magic opens its doors for business!
When: All week~
Where: At the Marauding Magic Shop near the outskirts of town, close to the forest.
Warnings: Magic!
[Finally the big day everyone (at least two or three people, maybe) has been waiting for arrived! Today Marauding Magic opens its doors.
Come by and discover the wonders that lie within! Potions, books, toys and tools, things that are more sentient than they really have any business being and items whose purpose isn't entirely apparent at first, but they sure look pretty.
A fire that changes colors ever so often and chairs by the fireplace, the shop is inviting you to stay a while and discover more. Behind the counter there is a staircase leading upstairs. Don't mind any of the sounds you might hear from there, magical experiments can go unexpected ways at times.
Perched on top of the counter sits an owl, watching everything that is going on, sometimes by turning his head 180 degrees, as owls do. Better don't shop-lift, that beak is sharp.
When you enter, a chime follows as the door closes. It won't be long until a wizard or two appears. Welcome to Marauding Magic, prepare to be charmed.]
[ooc: Come enter the shop and fulfill your dreams and secret desires! Or just have a nice chat with the chaps running the place. Either way, come on in!]

Love potions are in the last row, Anita.
[So he can't resist teasing her.]
no subject
Are you saying you think I need love potions to solve my problems now, Sirius?
no subject
[See, he's innocent. Smirking back though.]
Anyway, I was lying. Love potions are illegal... Well, where I come from they are. Free will isn't to be messed with.

[Rose having slipped in quietly and come up behind Anita, her head peering over her shoulder to see what it was her roommate was checking out.
It was no surprise to see Rose dressed in the kind of clothing one might wear to work out. Seeing as she did - nothing - in New Moore, outside of her training to date, her apparel was always some variation of the Guardian Black but at least she'd been good enough to show up before she hit the gym. A sweaty Rose in a confined space was hardly what you'd call a pleasant thing.]
no subject
That's what I hear. Everything else I've seen Sirius or Remus do in the way of magic has worked, why not this?
no subject
[Rose shifting around beside Anita, picking up an item, eyes squinting as she read the label before putting it back down. This was way more advanced than Maroi magicks, at least that's how it seemed to her.]

Disregarding anything resembling etiquette or rules, she leaped up into the ceiling beams and supporting structures, bypassing the customers entirely. She nodded a grave greeting to the guardian owl, silently exchanging pleasantries, before setting out to explore everything from above. If you knew what you were listening for, her laughter could be heard threading its way through the babble of the customers and merchandise.]

With almost no one else in the shop by now, he doesn't hesitate to talk to her.]
Aisling! Nice of you to stop by.
no subject
Dubhshlain! [Her Celtic name for him - just in case he doesn't want to share his True name.] Of course I came! This is wonderful. There is so much magic here!
no subject
I should hope so! That's the goal, after all.
[He grins up at her, leaning back against the counter to better face her.]
Anything you want to have a closer look at?

Still, looking is free, and there's more to look at in this shop than most, so he can be seen perusing the shelves and shaking his head with amused wonder. You'd think that after dragons nothing much would be that big of a surprise, but at the end of the day it's probably a good thing that there are things that baffle and beguile him. ]

[He recognizes him and stops next to him, putting his hand on the shelf and sparing a glare when a book snaps at him. It plays dead as soon as his eyes are on it, so he leaves his hand where it is.]
no subject
Just looking. This all is a bit too far above my head for me to be buying anything.
no subject
[Sirius strokes the back of the book absently, eyes on Quinn.]
Nothing like that where you come from, is there? Feel free to look at whatever you like, mate. Just tell me if there's anything you are curious about.

Making the excuse to look around, Rose peeled away from Anita, curiosity masking the hesitation she felt as her eyes roamed over the items in the shop. It was the owl that had her full attention though, the brunette having never seen one outside of pictures before, mimicking the owls movements as both tilted their head to one side, as if to examine each other.]
no subject
Hey there. I was wondering when you'd drop by.
[He comes around the counter and stops next to it, stroking the owl's feathers with his knuckles]
He's a beauty, don't you think? Remus got him for me for Christmas. I called him Virgo.
[...his family has star-related naming traditions.]
no subject
Ah, yeah. Sooner rather than later seemed like a good life plan.
[Finding a grin for him as he moved behind the counter. In person she was struck by how much he looked like somebody else she knew, if he were almost a foot taller and had a Russian accent that is, Rose forcing herself to refocus on the owl rather than stare too long as she noted similarities.]
He is. I've never seen one before. Just, ya know, pictures.
[Smile widening a little as he stroked the bird.]
He's, a pet? I didn't know you could do that with owls.

he's waiting for someone to turn their back before he can make a break for the stairs behind the counter.]

There are wards on the staircase, designed to hold everyone but him and Remus out there. He might have gone overboard a little bit, so mostly he's curious what might hit first.
Tentacles, hair growing, tickle attack, skin turning blue,... More than enough to take one's pick from.]

and then he picks a quarter from somewhere in his robes, and squatting by the staircase, he flicks it nonchalantly riiiiiiiight into it.]

And they're like It's better than yours...
Holy –
[Kenzi spins in a circle, visually assaulted by everything at once, unable to absorb as fast as she’d like, things that should be familiar from too much time spent reading a certain series of books not quite penetrating the state of poorly veiled awe that has overcome her.]
Why am I always the last to know about all the cool shit?!
Damn right, it's better than yours...
For a witch, her outfit really wasn't all that unusual. Which clearly didn't mean that Sirius couldn't appreciate it all the same or that he could ignore it any more than anyone else might have.
He watches her with amusement, fairly used to the awe by now. Nothing he had every experienced when being faced with mostly ordinary magic like this, but he could still appreciate it. It reminded him of muggleborn students at Hogwarts.]
I'm sure there are others who don't know yet. Kenzi, right?
I can teach you, But I have to charge
[She finally stops and stares at Sirius, wagging a speculative finger at him.]
What are you exactly? I mean we didn't really cover that in the whole, hey so I just met you and this is crazy but lets get drunk and do magic, thing.
