I have no idea what's going on. This all seems like rubbish, and I need to go home... but I can't seem to get back on my own. There's something preventing me from.. ah. Leaving.

[There is a pause as he glances about at the people coming and going along the street outside the hospital. None of them seem to be paying him any mind. Since he normally can't go out without being recognised, he assumes he is in a Muggle city.]

The people I spoke to told me I've been enrolled in public school, and that I'll be assigned a roommate in a flat somewhere. [He makes an exasperated sort of sound.] I'm sorry, I don't have time for any of this.

[Not in great detail, of course, since Sirius hasn't seen Harry since he was a baby, but every now and then... it's obvious that Harry is on his mind. That's for damn sure.]

Right. That's what matters. They're still themselves, no matter when they're from. I'm glad you have the chance to see each other again, even if you don't all share the same memories. I think they both needed this kind of pick-me-up, to be honest. Sirius, especially, has been having a rough time of it lately.

[His brows draw together as he frowns a bit.]

[She gives a wry but sympathetic smile.]

I probably shouldn't be talking about it, it's his business, but it's probably safe to tell you that he hasn't been out of Azkaban too long. He's adjusting.

At least he hadn't been there as long as--

[He sighs and scrubs a hand back through his hair.] not that it's any better when he shouldn't have been there at all.

I know. But I think it's going to be okay, given some time. Especially now that you're here? I think seeing you and getting to know you will probably do him a lot of good.

[She shifts slightly, letting her chin come to rest in her hand.]

The more friendly faces, the better, probably.

I hope so. I mean.. I'd like to help him, if I can. [Even if it weren't just what he'd do naturally, he'd do it because he owes it to Sirius.]

And.. I didn't know him as well as I'd've liked either. It'll be mutual, I think.

I was thinking that, too. It's a great opportunity for the both of you.

If there's anything I can do, just give me a shout, okay? That might not mean much right now, but considering how much time I spend with Sirius, I'm assuming we'll get to know each other better. And my offer to give him a hand whenever he needs it extends to you and Remus, too.
