Good day my fellow New Moorians.
I have a few very simple questions here for you all, if you would not mind. It would be most appreciated.

1. What do you think about this whole 'you were fictional but now you aren't' hodgepodge?

2. What do you think of our natives? Do you trust them? If so, why? If not, why?

3. Where do you believe we really are?

4. Do you have a criminal record? Did you have a criminal record? Have you done anything that could have landed you a criminal record in the past?

5. Have you ventured into the Hospital? If so, I would very much like to speak with you.

6. Have you ventured off the island? How far did you get?

Hm, and the non-fictional authorities appointed you. Safe to say why, hm? Or why also no one has questioned it. Or had they? Do tell.

Fist we had a nonfictional chief. He bit the dust. Then the island practically rioted at the thought of another nonfictional, so we got a political appointee, great guy if you don't count the fact that he was secretly an insane alien murder machine. When he got canned, the fictional cop with the most seniority on the island was yours truly. They weren't left with a thrilling range of choices.

Extrapolate on 'canned', if you would?

And bullocks. You are not the only candidate for such a position on the island. It could have been put to the vote of the 'fictionals' but you took up the reigns without a quarrel, hm? I suppose you also feel yourself the best and only fit.

First, fired. Then, arrested. Prosecuted. Convicted. Taken into private custody. Escaped. Released.

I may not have quarreled but I complained plenty. And best fit? At the time, maybe. Now the only reason to keep me in this desk is we're undermanned at it keeps the big brains out on the streets. I'm a Marine Commander, not a damn cop.

Still. I don't like taking stupid orders. Best way to keep that from happening is to sit on top of the chain of command and steal all the best people. Even if something happens to me, I've done my bit to make sure the next ass in the chair knows the job.

[ He likes you, Shepard. He does. He just doesn't think it's right. He doesn't think it's fair no matter how logical and sound it is, because it is. Then if he is to believe (and he has to believe, the proof is all there) that they were all extracted from various... universes, let's say, then he would have to also accept that what he knew of fair, just, lawful, and right, might also need to change to suit the new reality.

And this bothered him a little because he was no longer so certain. This is a man he might end up working in close unison with. He knew Gregson. He knew the mans intelligence, he knew what he was capable of, he knew all there was to know about one Tobias Gregson. He knew nothing about Shepard and he had no other way of finding out but this. ]

This puts me in an odd place, Commander. Do you know why I am questioning you?

I'm guessing you've got a reason beyond being a pain in my ass, but no.

I do. I suspect to have not gotten honesty otherwise.

I'm not too big on horseshit. Might have kept my mouth shut, though. So, what's the big idea?

As valid as that seems, correct me if I am wrong in that highly trained military personnel are extremely good at concealing the facts or betraying the facts in order to smooth an operation.

I don't lose a lot of poker hands, I'll give you that much.
