So, I'm still new here so I thought I could ask.
If you can't contact somebody and you can't find them around the island, does that mean they've gone back home? Or something's happened to them? Or something else entirely?

Damn.
suddenly private.
And have you got something?
suddenly private.
...Signs are consistent with release. Termination of phone service at 5:21 PM. The other 'normal' disappearance, it would have been midnight, and nothing else I know of would have had that effect on his phone.
private.
[Because Loki pointed him out in the direction of finding out about that one.]
private.
[He means, specifically, did you see his? But he doesn't actually note that detail aloud.]
private.
private.
[Not an answer, exactly.]
private.
Those happen, now and again.
Is there anything I should know, in case it happens to me?
private.
A Shadow is the part of you you can't stand. So I'd say don't fight it and remember to accept it... but if you have a Shadow develop, by definition, you won't be able to help it.
private.
[But, since it's Dick, it's not a long one.]
In which case, good thing B. isn't here.
private.
...You okay?
private.
I'm fine, nothing bad's happened to me.
You?
private.
I'm not happy about him vanishing. But I've had enough time here to learn how to deal.
It's like everything we go through. You take it, you try to understand it, and you use it to make you better.
private.
[You sound a lot like B, Dick still doesn't say. Not on the tail of 'good thing that B. isn't here.' But it's still true, it's the kind of advice that Bruce would have given him. It's sound, good advice, too, and Dick knows it. Still...]
[Instead, he goes the Dick Grayson way.]
Then I'll have to make it special for the two of us until you get to understand. Right?
private.
Glad we're on the same page.
private.
So, is my phone running Vigilance, too?
[Asked as though he hasn't checked already.]
private.
The fact that I can keep tabs on everyone running it is a side benefit.
Re: private.
Though it won't be just you keeping tabs on everyone in... about four minutes.
B. gives bad habits, doesn't he.
Re: private.
If you wanted admin access, all you had to do was ask.
Actually, if you can hack the system, I'll be very impressed. The coding was done by a guy from the 30th Century, and in five months I haven't been able to do anything but define basic parameters.
private.
I'll keep on working on it.
[Challenge. It has to be a challenge, and when did Dick ever back down from those?]
30th Century, huh? It's gonna be good practice, I'll see what I can use from the alien tech I've worked on to get to it.

[Instead he goes with,]
How often do things happen? Like the furious animals kind of things?
