The only way to know if you are aware of the time is to stay up past midnight and see if you experience it. However, if you find you are, please do not go outside, as the shadows are extremely dangerous, and cannot be brought down by conventional means.

I don't think I know any way to eliminate the supernatural 25th hour that resides at the end of every day. And the kidnapper - if it is indeed a person - never leaves any trace, even for the most discerning of minds and detectives.

I did not take it as such. Mine was not meant as a rhetorical question, or at least not in the long term - if you ever have any ideas as to how we might do so, I believe there are many who would love to hear it. It does appear to be quite the quandary.

How does that work in your world, then? Mine doesn't have anything that quite qualifies, as far as I am aware. [They had time-travelers, aliens, espers, dimensional sliders, and reality warpers, but none of those were the same thing as 'witches', so it wasn't technically a lie.] Moreover, it seems every world that has it approaches magic quite differently.

Hard to explain really. Magic works different for different people. Witches have different powers from warlocks and demons, for instance. They have separate rules.

Are any of your powers combat oriented? If so, it's entirely possible that you would fare just fine in the Dark Hour, provided you experience it. Most with the ability to defeat shadows are supernatural in one manner or another. However, I would not advise testing that without someone you know able to defeat shadows nearby.

Of course. Just something it would be good to be aware of, in case of an emergency.

Besides the Dark Hour, there seem to be all sorts of bad things that happen - unfortunately, nothing that is consistent or predictable.
