IMPORTANT NEW MOORE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM BULLETIN

From the Desk of Principal Buddy Dinkerton;
It has been brought to the school board's attention the alarm many citizens felt by the involvement of students during the super-ed human attacks that occurred last month. At once point, the school itself was the scene of destruction. These events have led to vicious misunderstandings by the public, primarily related to our student body. Once such misconception has been that such violent displays on school property demonstrate that New Moore's students have no respect for public education. As your principal, I know this is decidedly UNTRUE.
I ask the students of this island to join me in denying this vicious rumor with a simple wardrobe adjustment; the implementation of school uniforms. A uniform allows students to display their status as the educated minors of New Moore with a sense of dignity and pride. It shows we will not stand idly by while some students act out, lofting one group of students over another. In light of recent events, it is only right to wear your status as a student for all to see, and to let your uniformed good behavior shine above any past misdeeds. The following pieces will strongly encouraged* starting Monday, March 11th for the following students-
- Junior and High School Students-
The uniforms you will receive will include;
- Dress shirt.
- Blazer w/ embroidered school emblem.
- Vest w/ embroidered school emblem.
- Necktie.
- Dress pants
- Pleated plaid skirt
- Socks pack (2 white, 2 black)
- Loafers.
The Junior and High School girl's uniform can be seen here. The Junior and High School boy's uniform can be seen here. All pieces of the above are required on a daily basis. Neckties are required. After school sessions will be held to assist students in the proper tying of neckties.
Elementary Students-
- The uniforms you will receive will include;
- Dress shirt.
- Blazer w/ embroidered school emblem.
- Beret w/ embroidered school emblem, Student ID.
- Dress shorts (male students only)
- Pleated skirt (female students only)
- Socks pack (2 white, 2 black)
- Loafers.
The Elementary students uniform can be seen here. All pieces of the above are required on a daily basis. Berets are required.
Community college students will not be required to wear uniforms. However, as an added bonus, any adults wishing to show solidarity with New Moore Public Schools may purchase uniform pieces to wear with pride as well! Let your support for our public schools ring from our sandy beaches to our assuredly dormant volcano! Proceeds from these uniforms sales will go towards repairs to the science wing.
In line with your principal's desire to allow young people freedom of expression, some alterations** are allowed per Counselor Coulson's approval. Please respect the views of your teachers should they find your alterations inappropriate for school. Please also understand previous dress code offenses remain in effect- no hats (excluding school berets), no baring of the midriff or undergarments, shoes required, no blood stains, etc.
Students are also responsible for keeping their uniforms in clean and pressed conditions. Shoes should be shined, shirts tucked in. This is less of a requirement*** as it is cultivation of your sense wellness and self worth. Some students may find the first step to a clean mind is a clean pair of trousers!
The uniforms will be delivered to students' place of residence over the weekend. Sizes were taken upon your arrival in New Moore. From Monday, March 11th and forward, these uniforms will be highly recommended*!
This is your helpful mentor, telling you as always- make it a great day or not, the choice is yours.
* Uniforms are mandatory for all New Moore Elementary, Junior and High school students from March 11th, 2XXX forward. Uniforms are required at all times on school property.
** Alterations are not acceptable at this time.
*** Uniforms are a requirement. Failure to adhere to school newly instated mandated dress code guidelines will result in disciplinary action. - New Moore Public School Board
