Memory loss? And trees and plants everywhere. Magic always causes problems. We're all lucky it wasn't something much worse.

Of course there is! Every piece of magic is different. It depends on who uses it!

Every time I've seen magic used, people have gotten hurt. Lost their memories and forgot each other, before I came here. Everyone forgot what was important, except for me.

They use it to send people to dark places. To hide from their enemies instead of fighting them. There's always a price. People died.

[Suddenly she sounds old, and tired. No child should sound that world-weary.] People will die whether or not you use magic. And sometimes magic will help to preserve them.

That's what everyone says. They say it's some great tool, that it's so powerful. If magic is so great, why is what it creates always so much worse than the problem it's supposed to solve?

Perhaps in your world it's different. In my world, magic has done a lot of good, as long as it's not dark magic and used responsibly.

if you go around blaming it all on magic you are going to run into some trouble too
