ok so my life up until this point has been fake. shway. thats a headache ill deal w/ later. like after i eat my bodyweight in pizza. freezer-burned peas & carrots dont really do it for me. good choco pudding tho.

but what i really want cleared up is todays date. the year being the priority here. the staff here are sketchier than the mystery meat and i cant get a straight answer from them. so if someone could just clue me in thatd be slammin.

Seems like a few people are having fun at your expense.

I'd say 2013 by the state of most of the technology, myself, and October.

You don't believe we're from nonlinear timelines? Or that where we're individually from varies in its placement across multiple instances of space and reality?

I think the question was what year it is here, not where we come from.

Trust me, these devices we're using wouldn't be what they are in the twenty-fifth century.

Obviously. But there are people here who use different units of measurement and comprehension and time itself will reflect that. If you trap a bunch of people experiencing alternating specious presents, it's entirely possible it'll affect the overall understanding of time on the island. Time isn't a tangible thing, it's entirely reliant on its own species specific measurement of which there are A LOT here. The reconstruction of time's interpretation through contradicting perceptions is entirely possible, meaning there might not be a year here in any way we understand it.

You also can't really date an amalgamation of cultures on its tech considering the variety of timelines we are from.

Once again - I'm not rating the amalgamation. I'm rating what I see here, and that's pretty consistent, actually.

You know. Other than whatever's bringing us here.

[His theory is good, but it does have that one big gaping hole. And he's not willing to sweep that under the rug.]

Guess you've no idea how much data I'm basing my statement on.

That makes two of us.

Nope. Just you.

YOU ARE WRITING OFF A CHICK WITH HER OWN SIZABLE CHUNK OF DATA DICK FYI

Cute. I'll let you know if I need a sassy little brother.
peckish4action: (Tech wizard (R))

Yeah, but he started off with tech advantage... and Tim's three-year database.

[personal profile] peckish4action 2013-10-14 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Sorry, not available.
duckface: (I still look very pretty in this dress)

hey if he understands theoretical physics well enough to get the machinations of the island!!

[personal profile] duckface 2013-10-14 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
I'll give you guys some privacy.
peckish4action: (Tech wizard (R))

Sadly, he does get what she's saying. But the tech is so frustratingly consistent!

[personal profile] peckish4action 2013-10-14 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
... that makes things sound weird.
peckish4action: (Boy wonder (R) (Civvies))

JUST AS PLANNED

[personal profile] peckish4action 2013-10-12 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
Give or take. Later than 2010, though, these devices were way too expensive back then to just give them away, but not very much later.

And, hey, initials are better than netspeak, even mild netspeak. Not that netspeak is bad! Just, you know.

It's Dick Grayson.

Poor little bat. And wait till he finds out about Tim.

Just 'Dick' is fine. And likewise!

*cracks up * And then he meets the kid...

I think I like you, Terry McGinnis.

[What. He can capitalize if he wants to.]

Since mid-June, local time. Almost four months.

*chest-puffed and chin up* I'm not that small!

Terry, then.

I'm pretty sure professional opinions should be asked over totally not shady free phones. Totally.
peckish4action: (Tech wizard (R))

You can try! I'm more slippery than you expect! Huff!

[personal profile] peckish4action 2013-10-13 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty much! Though we should probably meet sometime and discuss things in detail. Possibly.
