one.
Wow, okay, lets start with how there are a lot of you on here. I mean, okay, this whole stuck-in-an-alternate-reality-where-we-are-all-allegedly-fictional thing is apparently pretty popular, or, you know, whatever it was that dragged all of us here is pretty powerful. Short of being able to go home I guess all the indications are getting settled is the way to go so, hi, I'm Billy. We can just pretend I gave the obligatory paragraph and a half about how I really need to go home as if that'll make that happen.
Is there anything they didn't tell me that I need to know? I am all ears. Or just saying hi, that works too! No better way to get into a new universe you're stuck in without getting to know the other kidnapees, right?

That's really good to hear - about the people.

I do seem to remember seeing you around before - I didn't know you very well, though, last time.

So, hey, we can get to know each other better this time.

[He gives Billy a smile.] I would like that. It's Billy, right?

There are people who've been here at least a couple years longer than I have.

However, just because something is fictional in one universe doesn't mean it must be in another. Maybe there are an unlimited number of realities, and all fiction comes from the author seeing into another reality and thinking the ideas coming to him or her head are original. Or if there really are an infinite number of universes to choose from, even if someone is fictional in one universe, there exists a universe out there where he or she is not.
To answer your question: are we fictional? In some universes, probably, yes. Does that mean we were any less real, that our lives or realities are any less valid than this one? Absolutely not.

Anyway, don't listen to the doctors. Whether we're fictional or not, it's pretty clear that they're not on our side.
