New Moore 103rd Homecoming Ball
Who: Everyone.
What: The fancy anniversary/homecoming ball.
When: Saturday evening, November 9th.
Where: Four Saison's Ballroom.

[ You made it to the ball. Presumably, you will have an awesome time and/or be completely miserable.
Through the doors is a giant dancefloor, with a small orchestra on stage. They're playing beautiful music and later in the evening they'll be replaced with a DJ who will then pump up some sick beats. You can be like hot damn that's my jam.
This ball is full of fancy decorations, fine dining, dancing of all sorts, alcohol??, tears, everyone trying to look their best, and Dinkerton wearing a golden crown and high-fiving a crowned Coulson. The tables are circling the dance floor if you're going to sit down the entire time or you need to eat that food. ]

No, nothing like back home. It's more akin to Cinderella's ball, minus it being in a castle, but it's certainly grand.

I..okay. [The word is whispered in a shy manner, placing her hand in his.]
I must warn you, I don't know how to dance with a partner.

This song is a waltz, that's fairly easy to begin with. First, place your hand on my shoulder. [He puts his other hand softly at her waist, and leads her through the dance.] The step itself is simple; for you, it goes back - side - close, then forward - side - close. I do the opposite, and then we repeat.
Have you got that so far?

She relaxes in his hold, paying attention to what Koizumi is teaching her. There's a nod of her head, going over the steps in her mind.]
I think I do and ready to try it out. [With a soft smile, she waits for him to make the first move. Once he does, she follows his lead, faltering at first but easily picks it up.]
This is nice.

[He doesn't reply, but smiles freely, clearly having fun - and more than glad that she is too.] All right, now, the next step is to start turning, a quarter turn with each set of steps. We turn to the left, and most of the turn happens on the second step. Ready?
no subject
Mm, okay. [She waits for his lead and follows through. There's a misstep on the first try, but the second time she's got it! By George she's got it!]
It's pretty simple after a while.

It is simple, and yet no less fun for all that. If you like, we can try some harder dances later.

Sure, i would love that. You make for an excellent teacher.

Ah, thank you. [They dance through the next few songs, and he teaches her both the foxtrot and swing dancing. The last song kept speeding up and speeding up, but they managed to keep up with it. The music just ended, and they are a little sweaty and a little out of breath, but are both happy and smiling.] My, that was a workout.
[Still breathing hard, he unthinkingly puts a hand a little possessively on her shoulder.] You are very good at this, you know, precious. With just a little practice, you might already be getting better than me!

She follows his lead, taking the steps he's shown her and applying them. The last song was an interesting one. She was used to moving quickly, but to those steps, it's a bit difficult. By the time the song is over she's out of breath too.] Yeah it was, but still fun.
[She doesn't think much of his hand being on her shoulder. Focused on taking in the compliment until she hears the word 'precious'. Her eyes widen ever so slightly, trying to figure out if his memories are returning or if she was hearing things. Aqua looks away, letting her bangs cover her eyes before she pushes them back.]
I don't know about that, but...I think I'm gonna sit the next dance out. Maybe get some water. Thank you for the lesson, I'll have to return the favor.

[He glances up through the crowd, expression a little more serious.] Will you be all right if I go check up on a few friends for a while? I think I see Lin-sama leaning over against the other wall, and not having nearly enough fun.
no subject
Have fun. [A small, polite smile before nodding her head. She pulls away from him, taking one step away and then another. She soon seats herself at a table that has a good view of the crowd.
Why was it the mention of his sire was enough to make her feel possessive? You're over thinking it. You're sabotaging yourself from having a good time. Don't worry and just enjoy the time.]

However, it would be rude to ignore his date forever. He comes up behind her as she's sitting at the table, fingers gently brushing her shoulder to get her attention. When she turned to him, he took her hand and kissed it, bowing in a dramatic and overly formal fashion. It even included flourishes.] Fair maiden, might I ask the favor of another dance?
Re: timeskip~
By the time her date went looking for her, she was back at her table, still reflecting. When she feels someone's fingers brush against her shoulder she nearly stiffens. Her magic raising up to her aid when she turns her head to see its Koizumi. Did he have any idea how close he was to recreating a certain night?
She pushed the thought aside, watching him as he picked up her hand to kiss it. He was for the dramatics, wasn't he? She lets out a light chuckle, holding his hand while she gets up to her feet.]
I was hoping you'd ask. Though I'm surprised you came back this quickly. I thought you had more people to see and talk to.
no subject
[Then he ruins the moment, his suitably mournful expression changing as he grins at her, speaking in a more normal manner.] Really, though, it would be rude of me to ignore you for too long. And I certainly don't have to see everyone at once - the night is yet young.
no subject
[The moment ends with them on the dance floor and her placing her hand on his shoulder.] It would've been fine with me if you wanted to talk to your friends more. [The music starts, but she doesn't know what style he was going to go with]
no subject
However, it quickly becomes obvious that he doesn't know it as well as he thought he did, or as well as the other dances - by the end of the song, they're tripping over each other's feet and just laughing, nearly helplessly, clinging to each other to remain standing.
Eventually they picked themselves up, but by then the beginning of the next song was starting - a slow, meandering piece, with the vocalist crooning about love. He doesn't say anything as he looks at her, but simply moves both his hands to her waist, smiling gently.]
no subject
She nearly tripped over her own heel, clinging to Koizumi to keep herself from falling over. Thank goodness they give up on learning and opted for laughing, giggling and having fun.
The lyrics of the music don't filter into her mind. She's clinging to Koizumi, trying to catch her breath and placed her head on his shoulder.]
How can we be able to trip so many times and not fall down?
no subject
He closes his eyes, still swaying, a pure and happy smile on his face.]
no subject
It's nice to be here with him. Even nicer to smile, laugh and feel like her old self. How she used to be before the Mark of Mastery Exams.]
I'm really enjoying this, Itsuki.
[The words are murmured as she turns her face to the other side to have her nose brush against his neck.
It hasn't registered in her mind she's called him by name and not surname.]
no subject
[He stands there swaying, just breathing her in. It's so nice to hear her laugh like that. Before this, he's really only seen her when she's her most down, in need of comfort. He's glad he was able to be there for her then - but seeing her smile brightly and so freely is a gift in itself, one he doesn't take for granted.]
