Kate steps back into the South apartment building for the first time since she went to stay with Rose. She feels so silly being so creeped out, but her phone recorded movement when no one was there and she doesn't trust this island to do anything resembling normalcy so she is taking no chances.

However, if Kate wants a place of her own and to stop intruding on Rose and her roommate, she has to at least try to get rid of... whatever is in there. Hence calling Aradia and Rose over to the apartment.

It seems like Aradia has experience in these sorts of things. Perhaps she can be the Dr. Strange of the island?

Ugh, whatever. Time to get this over with, she thinks to herself. With a trembling hand she is NOT admitting to, she unlocks the door of her apartment.

[He needed about five hours to figure out how to work this thing at all. So many buttons, no scroll or quill, damn it, those parrots were much easier to use. For someone whose primary form of long-distance communication has been owls so far, at least.

[After the pirate thing and a few days in this weird place, the obvious prison signs are starting to vanish. His skin has some color, his voice doesn't sound as...unused anymore and he's almost used to interacting with people again. Just when the night starts and when the nightmares come, then it's all back in Azkaban, without hope, without anything but regret and the thought of revenge.]

I'm Sirius Black. Not sure what to make of people telling me I'm fictional. To me, this place doesn't feel real.

Anyone know a good spot to get a drink around here?

[ the video was not set up at all. actually, where ever the camera is (most likely somewhere where the phone had accidentally fallen more like, as the bearer would possibly have a difficult time finding it in the morning if he had any sense to put it somewhere where it wouldn't get lost, but that was unlikely), it's low and at an odd angle. the only thing visible is half the bannister of the balcony and a square of blue sky with slow-moving clouds.

for a moment it's peaceful.

and then there's the sound of gunshots, and if you look closely, you can almost see the bullets piercing the serenity. and then comes the rumble of the ground as the camera shakes and there are two bare feet and then a dude with no shirt make the scene. he's waving a .45 and aiming at something that looks like a marshmallow animal with ears coming out of ears. it dodges each of his shots and he swears at it as it takes off down the balcony. ]

I told you, stay away. Don't need you around here.

[ the large man paces back, like he's waiting for it to return, but he seems to catch the camera out of the corner of his eye. ]

Huh? Oh, didn't even know I lost you.

[ and then the feed dies. ]

[ He wasn't truly the leader in this ragtag group of misfits calling themselves the Avengers. That title had yet to be bestowed on anyone, especially here on New Moore, and Steve wasn't about to throw his weight around in an attempt to take over something that didn't really need to be taken over.

He still felt responsibility, though. Call it habit, from leading the Howling Commandos. When he'd returned to normal, he'd returned to work, and he had only just realized that while the last member of their team was here, he wasn't with them.

It takes him a minute to figure out the filter system, but when he does, he sends the video Thor's way, the other Avengers+Bucky receiving it as well. ] Thor. You got here at a really strange time, and I'm sorry for that. There's a spot for you here at the Stark Building, if you'd like it. I'm sure we can all understand if you'd rather not, considering the, ah, state we were in when you got here. [ He pauses. ]

We'd really like to have you, though. Team's not really complete without you.

[The feed is horrendously filled with static, but beyond that, shows ZIM, face grossly swollen and bruised in places so that his massive red eyes are nearly swollen shut. Antennae are bent and there appears to be at least one broken metal rod sticking out of his back. His voice is weak and breaking, though he clears it, trying to steady himself.]

My Tallest. My attempt to learn more about the technology used by the natives and non-natives on the island has met an... unexpected end. [Clearly, this transmission is not meant for you.] Individually, the humans are weak, pathetic, and often stupid, but I have made an interesting discovery: When grouped together, much like a deadly swarm of skleegax, they can present themselves to be admittedly formidable.

Much more research is needed... and... a recuperation period for my skeleton to align itself back into place.

So this place can work up the energy to "magically kidnap" an increasing amount of people, but no one has the decency to commit a good locked-room homicide? A really intricate bank robbery? At this point, I'll take another bloody hound.

Oh, but I would like to note that while you aren't as blunderingly obvious as most tails, you've not gone unnoticed. It was a bit clever, keeping tabs on John instead of myself, but if you're not going to answer back to me with that then kindly remove him from your rotation.
