Dr. John Watson
29 March 2012 @ 09:59 am
[ The video is dark at first, with only the sounds of microphone scraping against the inside of a pocket being heard and brief flashes of light coming from one side. The person holding the phone is panicked, hurried, and running as quickly as he can. The screen moves finally, and is lifted out of the pocket it had been confined in, and is now showing a very close shot of John Watson's head, as though he is using his phone like a real torch. He is pressed against a wall and breathing heavily. ]

They're out there. I know they are. I heard them last night, sir. [ He swallows hard and takes a shaking sigh. His pupils are dilated and the vein on his neck is easily apparent. On his head, he's wearing a silver mixing bowl and his other hand a ladle, held like a rifle. ] I heard them. They're going to attack. We've got to hit them first. They'll kill us all without a second thought, I know it.

[ He's on the move again, the video bobbing up and down with each of his swift steps. He then shifts the phone and the video cuts off. ]

Rodney McKay ✷ Stargate Atlantis

[Rodney doesn't seem to realize that his phone is broadcasting. Probably because he thinks it's an entirely different device, and keeps poking at the screen. He's walking along and talking to himself.]

I don't get it. This looks like Atlantis, feels like Atlantis... I'm getting all kinds of life sign readings, but there's nobody here! Is this a hallucination INSIDE a hallucination? Or... Oh, GOD. [His expression changes to one of dread.] Or is this an alternate-reality drive that only fires just under once a month? Because that would so totally be my luck! Of course, all I'd have to do would be to find it, and maybe there'll be a nice ZPM to power it... [Anybody listening will notice he says it as "zed-pee-em" instead of "zee-pee-em". If they can hear anything he's saying at all, of course. HALLUCINATIONS FOR ALL] No. No, I'm not gonna count on myself to be THAT lucky.

[He continues to wander, muttering to himself before cutting it off by virtue of accidentally pressing the right button.]

[The camera is dark, at first, with a strain of that familiar high-pitched laughter filtering through some form of barrier. Something is rubbing across the microphone, generating a little bit of static-type sound, but the PDA is also slowly working itself out of its container, and eventually the lens comes clear. It must be in her pocket, because otherwise heaven knows how it would be moving around at that speed.

She's in the city - those are definitely buildings and signs and rooftops whipping by - and she doesn't seem to be taking the roads or sidewalks. Up and over and around and spiraling up things, and hurtling down things... A tour of the city set on 'dizzy'. She keeps laughing from time to time, and saying something, but it's definitely not English.]

...athas, Mathair! Sona tá túsa anseo! Seo áit ní tá baile, ach sé deas - níl! Fearr! Tá túsa anseo! Túsa ní mór dom é a dhéanamh cas le mo cara!

[The phrases roll smoothly, the inflection ranging all across the scale, almost mimicking the motion of the camera. This lasts for some time. Sometimes it will stop its flowing across the landscape at a particularly good vantage point, and Aisling will clearly be pointing something out, and then it will all start up again. At the end, a game of tag seems to spring up spontaneously, and the PDA slides back down into the pocket and clicks off.]

((OOC translation: "...happy, Mother! It's nice here! This place is not home, but it's nice - no! Better! You're here! You must meet my friend!" Or something vaguely approximating it. *cough* If you actually speak the language please feel free to correct me. ;lasdkfj ALSO - anyone with a translating device may feel free to translate and/or identify the language.))
