[ He had managed to stumble across it a few weeks ago, the cemetery overgrown with weeds and grass. It had been a fluke that he'd seen it at all, tucked away as it was, but somehow he'd managed, and he'd taken it on himself to try and clear some of the stones. They were faded and some of them unmarked entirely, but Steve still felt like they deserved some respect.
And it had been here that he'd set up his own private place to mourn those he had lost. There had been a spot for Bucky, but he'd cleared it away when Bucky showed up on the island, and now it sat as tribute to his friends who were gone -- Peggy, the Commandos, those who were lost in the fight with Loki. And it was here that he brought Bucky on the day they knew as Memorial Day back home, to remember those lost.
He was somber. He missed them all. He had one back, now, and it was eating at him, a little bit, that that was almost enough, that he had Bucky back and no one else.
They'd understand, though, wouldn't they? ]
