WHAT: Aisling's Samhain Feast
WHERE: A long forest glade only a mile or so from the sea
WHEN: Dusk till dawn October 31st to November 1st
WHOM: Aisling and anyone who cares to attend - she's issued invitations to all of her friends, but anyone who stumbles upon it or comes investigating will be made welcome.
WARNINGS: Dubious historical accuracy. Shouldn't get problematic otherwise, but you never know.

Beginning without an end/We are alive/Forever )

[tldr: It's pretty and dark, and somewhat creepy but with a strange sense of calm and soothing, and there's a lot of primitive food and no real tables to speak of. Your hostess is about, moving more slowly and solemnly, done up in her guise. Separate threads for each person would be preferred!]

I've seen six people dressed like witches today.

I cannot decide upon a costume.

There are three options that I am considering.

First is a traditional variant on a costume.

The second I would be wearing out of solidarity with Miss Lalonde's costume dilemma.

The third, however, is the first image search result on Schnoogle.

I am not certain what criteria I should apply to narrow these choices down.

Also on the matter of aesthetics: Billy.  Mister Trancy.  Mister Laufeyson.  When would it be most convenient to have my makeover and the subsequent beauty contest?

After the events of last years rather unusual Halloween Festivities, I am considering forgoing the costume tradition this go around. I did carve a pumpkin this year, but beyond that I suppose I will just be passing out candy.

As for my students, have a happy and safe Holiday. There will not be class tomorrow for any of my University classes. Biology students, I have a lab planned for us that I think many of you will enjoy. And remember, if any of you would like extra credit in one of my courses, turn in your paper next Tuesday on how genetics played a role in the development of carving pumpkins, and what factors contribute to the color, size and shape of the pumpkin that results.

Genetics and Biophysics students, I will expect your papers to be much more detailed than the ones I receive from my Psychology and High School students. Do not take that as an excuse to not put effort into your papers, either, however. I still expect you to have put the effort forth into these papers if you want the credit.

So... anybody know if all the stores are going to have candy at a discount tomorrow?

I mean. I want to know purely for curiosity's sake. Not because I am a glutton or anything, certainly not. The sugar helps me when I feel a little faint, you see.

For once, the holidays approach and I really have not the slightest desire to partake in them.

I heard The Nancing Phony might be having some kind of special. Care to come for a drink?

Someone's having a party tonight, right? Just because Halloween's in the middle of the week doesn't mean everything has to happen on the weekend.

Free drink if your costume impresses me.

But don't think you can come back in a different costume later and get another free.

[Clint is sitting on his bed, still dressed in his costume, which was labelled supposed to be Robin Hood, but turned out to be Green arrow. No probs, though. All archers were cool. He's got his hat still perched on his head, though the mask is off to the side.

What's different is the literal mountain of candy piled in front of him.]

So, who got a good haul tonight? Before you ask, no, I'm not too old to go trick or treating. Candy is candy.

I'll be waiting.
That was fun! Thanks, Roxy.

It's too bad we can't do that again until next year.

So far nothing else has happened today either.
