Doc Scratch can avoid or survive a triple headshot from a high muzzle velocity rifle chambered with .50 caliber ammunition at extreme close range with no time for preparation.

How would you suggest dealing with him?

[Aisling appears, grinning cheerfully and waving what appears to be two oddly-shaped, mud-caked... things. Wait... What's that hanging by a thread off of one side of that one? A small stick? No, it's colored funny. Those can't be a pair of heels, can they?]

Lydia, I found your shoes! Both of them!

While it's absolutely undeniable that the last month has been full of diversions and distractions, and navigating that minefield has ranged from exciting to frankly terrifying, it's inescapable that no event, however dramatic, can truly derail the pre-ordained course of events for student life.  And the nature of that truth, however distasteful, must be accepted with as much alacrity as the Greeks gave to the proclamations of the oracle at Delphi -- there are some instructions, no matter how banal or irrelevant they seem, that must be enacted immediately, or they're sure to have a detrimental effect upon your ultimate fate.

Putting matters a different way -- unless I achieve truly outstanding grades on my November exams, I'll be put on academic probation and suspended from all participation in extracurricular activities.

Since the consequences of that are truly unthinkable, I've decided to convene an emergency study summit at my apartment, effective immediately after school lets out for the day.  I suspect I'm not the only one in this situation, and that, like certain historical world leaders, it would be to our great benefit and mutual interest to co-ordinate our agendas immediately.

If someone else can bring the snacks, I can assure you that we won't run out of tea or soda for the duration.

[Mycroft's video turns on, and the feed turns to a very posh looking Corgi staring into the feed. There might be a hand petting it.]

Quite a remarkable creature, isn't he?

[The Corgi's quite happy at the moment. Mycroft's paying attention to him, obviously.] He's been following me for the past half an hour. If he belongs to anyone here, they should come pick him up immediately.

Should he be found to not have an owner, he will be coming home with me.
