Aradia misses Laura like she imagines Vriska missed her limb, except that it's a lot easier to build a mechanical arm than it is to replace a friend. But that's not the fault of- Darcy Lewis? says the note?- her new roommate, and Aradia is determined to at least try to be nice.

She baked a cake! (It's sort of drowning in frosting. She way overestimated how many cans of frosting need to be on a cake.)

She got balloons! (Indy punctured half of them when her back was turned.)

She dug out the Indy's mini sunglasses and a bowtie and dressed him up for the occasion! (He's rolling around on the floor while she's running around getting things ready, shedding feathers and chewing on the tie.)

But damn if she didn't try, ok. It's a very earnest attempt at welcoming enthusiasm and normalcy, which might not be enough to offset the fact that it's all staged by an alien teenager with a baby velociraptor for a pet.
