So what do you guys think about using our base to host a get together for all the crime fighting groups in New Moore? It would be optional to come, but highly encouraged. Seeing as some of us like to keep a secret identity I thought it would be a good idea to get to know each other outside of a disaster.

I didn't want to confirm anything before seeing what you all thought. It is everyone's base after all.

Also: Who thinks putting in a roof access is a good idea. We do have quite a few flyers.

[Remy is sitting at a table in a hazy room with a scattering of shot and cocktail glasses in front of him, a glass of bourbon in one hand and a black and silver choker in the other.]

It don't matter that we don't know. You tell me: what does release mean to you? Where do you think they go? Why leave behind the t'ings they leave? What takes them away? How do they choose it?

[His voice, which started bitter, grows steadily angrier, and his accent first thickens as it does, and then nearly drops away.]

What you have to do in a place like this to get yourself released? Just how hard you have to try?

There's a long version of this and a short version. The short version is: I'm putting a team together, and I want you on it.

There are a lot of different reasons to put together a team. To unify against a common threat. To work together to avoid confusion. To train a group of people who might not be good enough on their own. To get control and set an agenda.

Those aren't my reasons. Some of you I know well, and some of you just by reputation. But I trust each of you to be professional and independent, and to pool your efforts when we need to if there's danger. And I'm not grabbing the reins: when I have a final roster of who's in and who's out, and we've considered whether or not we want to add some less-familiar faces to our lineup, we'll be voting on a leader.

So, why do this at all? Especially when most of you don't remember the Titans, who I'd like us to be named after (though we can vote on that too, I guess). It's because of what the Titans always were as a team. We're a long way from home here, even if most of us remember coming from similar places and times. The Titans fought together, and worked together, but those things weren't our mission. The mission was to have a place that people like us, wherever we came from, whatever we were doing, could go to be understood. To get away from the kind of pressures we face every night, or at least be somewhere where everyone knew about them, and nobody was condescending to us because of our ages or our backgrounds. To be just a little closer to home and family.

I'm putting a team together, and I want you on it.

Take your time, think it over, and get me an answer when you can. No expiration date, but I've got plans for us starting next weekend, and if you are interested, you probably don't want to miss them.

I'm putting together a Titans team. And I'm trying not to make too many assumptions. If you're interested, you're on the team, no questions asked.

This isn't me attempting to get control or make you answerable to me. When we have a roster, the team will vote on who's in charge. This is me trying to open up a line of communication between us that doesn't rely on explosives.

[Locked to: Damian Wayne; with the message to the other Titans copied and forwarded as an attachment.]

The offer's still open. It won't run out. I know your answer, but I'm keeping you in the loop.

So, hey, who do I talk to about roommate assignments? Because I got an eight year old and that can't be right, right? Shouldn't he be with his mom or something? Or at school? Or anywhere that's not with a man that's at least 20 years olden than him?

Wait, that sounded way creepier than I wanted it to.

[ anyone who interacts with Sherlock on even just a semi-regular basis will have noticed that for the last few days, he hasn't spoken a word. in fact, he hasn't responded to any attempt to communicate with him face-to-face, just making the occasional text exchange on the network, and the only sounds he makes come from his violin, which he spends several hours a day sawing and plucking at when he isn't staring in motionless silence at his investigation wall.

radio silence, however, is now over: ]
