✰ AMERICA ✰
04 October 2012 @ 01:48 am
[You may have noticed sometime within the past two months, the shining beacon of freedom standing tall and proud by the bay. Not just a replica of the Statue of Liberty. The actual Statue, which had appeared along with the collection of random items that had been turning up from fictionals' home worlds.]

[Today, however, New Moore's skyline seems to be lacking one Lady Liberty. Her pedestal stands tragically empty, and there is no sign whatsoever of the 150 foot copper statue. America looks as if someone has just cancelled Christmas.]

DAMMIT YOU GUYS THIS ISN'T FUNNY, WHO THE HECK STOLE THE STATUE OF LIBERTY I mean she is like half a million pounds of metal she didn't just get up and..........ohmygod

Capt. Jack Harkness

[When the feed turns on, Jack's face appears clear as day, his face grave, fiercely dramatic, and he looks absolutely livid, despite his hard, yet steady breathing.]

To the people who took the most important person in the world to me. You have no idea what you have just done. You've severely pissed off someone who cannot die. Someone who will not stop until he's had what he wants back with interest. I will find him. And I will find you. If you've ever wanted to see a desperate man, oh ho... You've got one now.

[He lifts his hand into view, just in time to load a clip into his pistol and show it to the camera.]

For your sake, you had better hope that I find him alive and well without a single goddamn scratch on him, and that the police find you before I do. You have not made a friend in me. You have made me very, very desperate, and a deadly, deadly enemy.

[The feed turns black]

Who: Criminals & Vigilantes.
What:  Running around fighting or committing crime during the first night of the event. Reply to Tim or start your own thread!
When:
The night of October 3rd.
Where: The rooftops and back alleys of New Moore.

The night was louder than usual.  Shouting and gunfire in the streets; breaking glass, squealing tires, fights spilling out of buildings into the streets.  Tim felt overwhelmed already, taken halfway back to Gotham, hyper-aware and anxious.

Damn.  This had to happen on his night off, didn't it?  He didn't have his costume with him, didn't have any of the tools of the trade but his domino mask.  Stripping out of his suitcoat and hanging it on the corner of a drainpipe, he unbuttoned his shirt, stripped off his tie, and put on the mask.  Grey undershirt, black slacks, dress shoes -- a shirt and tie to use as climbing tools if he needed them.  he had to get across town, down to Torchwood, now -- to pick up his gear, to find out what happened to Ianto, to try to get some kind of grip on what was going on right now.  What kind of insanity was taking over the island now?

He started running.

People should be able to have their wishes granted without bargaining away everything.

I can do that for them, even if it's not for the most important wishes.

What do you want?

WHERE: Beckett and Sheska's apartment
WARNINGS: Gross emotions contained within. PG for now, but if it gets to R-rated activities it will be taken to a musebox.

You are really good for me, and I'm good for you )

[Kate's at her desk at the precinct. Even though it's late, it's still pretty alive with activity, for reasons that are obvious if people can see the number of cases already piling up on her desk.]

And I thought I knew backlog working for the NYPD. This is ridiculous.

[She exhausted - she hadn't slept well since the Dark Hour fiasco, for a number of a reasons. Most it having to do with haunting thoughts of sniper fire she just can't seem to shake. Needless to say, she's at least glad she has work to distract her, even if she's not really happy with the reasons why.]

Sheska, are you still here?

[Pausing, she switches the feed to private.]

Private to Sheska, Richard Castle, Koizumi and Kate Bishop )

[[ooc; feel free to reply via device or action if your character is in the precinct!]

[Officer Beifong sounds rather distracted, and has to talk over her phone making all sorts of "alert!" noises as the police department explodes with calls for backup. Judging by the background noise, she's already on the move through the city.]

Kate Bishop and Allison Argent, I'd appreciate it if you would stop by East 205 and make sure Lydia doesn't injure herself again. She's being stubborn. I'll see to it that as soon as I get a break, some sort of food is sent over.

I just got served notice by the NMPD Police Union of an official strike, effective immediately.

Meanwhile, every two-bit thug on the island picked up a pocket full of uppers and a halfway decent gun from somewhere.

If you're not in the Union, you're on 24-hour call, effective immediately.

If you have police, military, or paramilitary experience, and you're not one of my officers, get your ass down to the station if overtime hazard pay sounds like your idea of a good time.

Holmes.  Anything useful for us?

[Locked to NMPD]

I was working on declaring a curfew, but if we're down 75% of the force, we don't have time to waste on that kind of crap.

Barnes, Rogers -- how close are your buddies to being fully operational?  Can I trust Stark enough to deputize him?

One would think that the locals would have a better handle on their money. Or a better grasp on the concept of Texas Hold-em.

[filtered away from Sherlock Holmes and John Watson.]

I'm looking for several people to do a bit of work for me. I'm in the market for a few specific skills, if you understand my meaning, and would rather like to work discreetly. You'll be compensated for your time, of course.

All right, lads and ladies? Well, it looks as though our lovely police force here on the luxurious New Moore island have got their hands a bit full tonight. Anyone out for a bit of drinking and senseless vandalism?
